New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Congratulations ceridwenRN!!! I remember before when we were still applying for our eligibility until we received it and became classmates @ CON, you were one of those who was soooo anxious and worried, very pessimistic (super nega) lol BUT look at you now!!! See, you got a job after your program and you got a 457 visa now, so count your blessings and give thanks to God, to your loved-ones and friends :)

Why don't you try to ask your NUM for another week of extension? Just explain to her your predicament, call her :p its better to be honest, who knows your stress will be lesser when you do so :) Goodluck my friend! See you in Sydney soon!

thank you ate miks, the aussie RN permanent resident! i'm glad i'm classmates with you, macpao, mikyong, markdreamy and the rest. all of you have very high hopes, dreams and ambitions! you're all very good to me and influenced me very positively (countered my nega star hehe). i still don't know how to deal with me flying without oec but i hope i'll figure it out. i'll see you soon in spring sydney! :nurse:

as i've read here, yes you need to submit a valid ielts again to ahpra for your registration(if ielts expired already). they also say you can get it there. goodluck on our BP hunting!!

i see..gosh! another expense! thanks!

Congratulations to all those who received their eligibility, visas, and/or RN registration, and patience for us still waiting!

So are all eligibility valid for 2 years?

If yes, then you can enroll to your BP school of choice anytime within this validity?

or what?

Mine is only valid for 1 year. I was assessed in NSW. Yes, you must enroll within the validity.

Question: Can you apply online in the schools? or do you really need the original letter from ahpra? I was informed 3 schools are already booked til next year! How can I apply? Do I have to pay the fee upon sending the application?

someone please help me! can i really exit the phil with 457 visa even if i don't have oec?

Hi. I'm sure you can exit the Philippines without an OEC. You will have to pay the terminal fee of P750 and ?P200 Travel tax (not sure about this one-I've got OZ PR status). What you will miss out is the OWWA membership and Philhealth. Have you tried their online service? Check the webpage below.

Hello. I have a question. PRC sent my Certificate of good standing last May. And I just sent my application to AHPRA WA this month. Do I need to request for a new one or do they keep their files even if still incomplete.

No, you dont need to request another one ´cos they keep your cert. in your file. Just make sure they have already received ur certificate by calling or emailing them;)

hi. thank you for the reply. I passed my documents to AHPRA WA. do you know their email address? if yes, please can you send it to me through private message? thanks... or maybe someone else knows the email address of AHPRA WA

Hello again, is it possible to pass my CV to aphra without having my employer sign it?

I just don't want my employer to know that I'm currently processing my application for Australia 'coz I might be terminated from work after my probationary status and since I still want to keep my job until I am really sure that I could have my BP and visa for Australia :D hope you could advise me on what the best thing to do... thank you so much

Sometime ago this questioned was discussed and some forumers like myself, decided not to have our CV´s signed by our employers 'cos we might ended up without a job:uhoh3:

It´s a very difficult situation to ask your boss to sign a paper that means you wish to live in another country.....as for my experience, my bosses invest a lot on me and they´d be really disappointed if they knew I might be leaving them soon. :crying2:

hello bobby! thank you for your reply. how were you able to say i can exit phil without oec?

in my 457 visa label it says "temporary resident" (whoohoooh!!!), it doesn't even say business long stay visa. if phil immigration officer questions me why i don't have an oec, can i just tell that i'm a temporary resident and then i'm off to sydney (hopefully wishing)?

i phoned poea twice.

the first said i don't need oec for business long stay visa / temporary resident visa bec oec are for contractual workers..

the second said i need it because although i'm a temporary resident, my primary purpose is to go there and work. also, nsw health didn't give me a contract, i only have position description and job offer letter.

hope i can be enlightened on this one. :)

wow congratulation. :yeah:

Where in oz did you apply? and when did you start your application?

I applied Feb 2011 in Vic. It took more than 6 months! So grateful the long wait is over.:D

Time to look for BP schools. Suggestions anyone? Thanks!
