Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
no. 3 as for me, i also forgot to address my docs to the reg. officer assigned to my case but i placed my contact/reference number and i guess they'll be able to trace that, because my reg. officer emailed me and said she received the outstanding docs.no.4 in the agos-04 form it states that "the board requires a certificate of registration status or
certificate of good standing from every jurisdiction outside
australia in which you are currently, or have previously been
registered as a health practitioner during the last 5 years.
you must arrange for original certificates to be forwarded directly
from the licensing or registration authority to the nursing and
midwifery board of australia. " so what i did was to request still a certificate of reg. from the state i was licensed and asked them to forward it directly to ahpra and paid a fee.:)
hi good morning.
how did you request for a certificate to be forwarded in ahpra?
my state is new mexico.
thank a lot;)

What I did was I browsed Vermont Board of Nursing website then searched for the Verification of Nursing Licensure Form then downloaded it and filled it up then sent it to Vermont BON via courier together with the bank draft of 20dollars as non-refundable fee.
Try to check New Mexico's BON website and look for the Verification of Nursing Licensure Form. If you can't find it, there is a Contact Us section and maybe you can email them your queries. :)
Hello again, is it possible to pass my CV to aphra without having my employer sign it?I just don't want my employer to know that I'm currently processing my application for Australia 'coz I might be terminated from work after my probationary status and since I still want to keep my job until I am really sure that I could have my BP and visa for Australia
hope you could advise me on what the best thing to do... thank you so much
I strongly reckon you should have your employer sign it as it is required by AHPRA. Otherwise, you will delay your application if you submit your CV without the employer's signature and AHPRA will still ask for it.
good morningi have 4 employers, should i let them all sign or the recent employer only? and where will i let them sign in my CV?
i already sent my CV last July which doesn't have a signature of my employer too.
Better ask AHPRA about this through their enquiry form. In my opinion, your last/recent employer signs it.
I received my eligibility letter September 5, 2011. I submitted my documents September 16, 2010. I waited for almost a year. Imagine the agony of waiting. Frustrated but still happy :)My IELTS will expire on October of this year. Is it true that your IELTS must stay valid until after the BP? or else AHPRA would not issue your license?
I am planning to take the BP in CON but I'm still waiting for my original letter from AHPRA which is one of their requirements. Does anybody here have any idea on how much is the fee there and when is the next earliest intake? Who's going there next year by the way? anybody?
thanks guys!
Better have your IELTS current. I was advised to retake IELTS because ANMAC or DIAC will need current IELTS when you get a work visa.
dont listen to any agency/consultancy firm.pass your IELTS then go for a BP. faster, lesser risk, and cheaper.
one more thing, how can you pass DIAC if EN is not in the SOL?
so I need to re-apply as RN. i wish there was some other way i could keep EN and work there after bp. thanks rajotolentino!
Anyone who knows someone doing Enrolled Nurse (Div.2) and stayed and worked in AU after BP??? Please guys I need more information before I re-apply as RN.
You cannot get a sponsorship/work visa and maybe eventual pr based on your profession as an Enrolled nurse, they are not on needed profession.
The only overseas trained EN's from the Phils I have heard, seen or met have been able to stay and work due to the fact they have been given pr as a family member, fiancé visa, married to Australian citizen OR on student visa doing a degree of at least 2 years of a profession on SOL so that they had a chance of obtaining pr (this is no longer a sure way of getting pr)
On student visa you can only work 20 hours a week.
Most of theseEN 's on student visa's were studying Nursing degrees for 2 years to become RN. If you take this route by the tome you finish there will be no nursing jobs available to sponsor you. My 2 cents as an employer of nurses.

thanks so much. this is a valuable information. i have enquired ahpra already regarding my re-application as rn. i really hope and pray that they keep all my supporting documents and transfer it towards my new application and i get a waiver for the fees i payed before. they actually suggested in writing earlier this year that i re-apply as rn... however, due to some inexpert source i was led this way which is obviously a wrong path. i am more than happy to be hearing and learning heaps from this forum before i do my bridging as en. that would be a waste of money and time!!! and considering i waited a year for ahpra's approval for my en... such a sad story... but really thankful for this forum and for you ceridwyn for enlightening me. it is considered a blessing!
There's actually a chinese friend who did EN in Aus and she stayed and worked in Brissie... so I reckon she must've done 2 years EN and worked at the same time and now proceeded to become RN... she's on student visa that's why she stayed. I thought I was ok with EN too. I realize we two have different situations after all.
Hi everyone,
I just received my passport today. I was granted by the Australian Embassy a 1 year multiple entry business short stay (456) visa that allows me to be in Australia 3 months per entry. I was amazed by how smooth and fast the process was. I lodged my visa application Sept 2. Received text message that the Embassy received my application Sept 5. Received text message this morning that my passport has been dispatched already. Received a parcel from 2go at 1pm today containing my passport and the original supporting documents. It only took 4 days!!! God is so good!!!!
The multiple entry is such a blessing because I will come home after the bp to be with my family for the holidays. It won't be a hassle for me to immediately go back after the New Year to claim my RN license and start job hunting!!!!
To everyone out here, THANK YOU for all your support and advices!!!!
To everyone still in the process, keep up the faith and don't lose hope. "Everything will always work together for good!!!"
Congrats Joiemike!
I'm very happy with the outcome of all your efforts from applying to AHPRA to getting your visa. Hope you can still have time to visit and post in this thread even when you're doing the BP already. Your comments and advice are really helpful to each one of us here still on the process of fulfilling our Ozzie dreams. Godbless you :)
*I'm still looking for BP school. Hai. Anyone out there in the same boat as mine. Any updates with your application?
