Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

wow! that really helped!thanks so much!
by the way, my IELTS will be expiring on Oct 24
and some schools need the IELTS test result. If I apply before the expiration date, would they reconsider? can I still take the BP even if my IELTS will be expired by that time? or should I retake the IELTS?
thanks so much.....
I suggest you retake the IELTS test again. My previous test results will expire Sept 26 of this year. So, I took the test again last July 30. After 2 weeks, I received the test results and passed the minimum scores. I immediately requested IDP to forward my latest Test Report Form to AHPRA because they will not release my RN license with an expired IELTS test report. You will also need this current IELTS for your visa requirements anyway. So, it's best to get it done and over with so you can fully concentrate on bp school hunting!!!

I went to the IDP office where I applied for my IELTS test. They have a forwarding request form which you need to fill up. Bring a photocopy of the ID you used for the test. In my case, it was my passport. I put in my AHPRA Contact (Reference) # where it says Contact Person in the form. Then, I wrote down AHPRA's address in Victoria where I originally lodged my application for licensing.
I just opted for the ordinary postmail. It's a lot cheaper at only P350 as opposed to the private courier that costs more than a thousand pesos. My document will arrive in AHPRA Vic about 2 to 3 weeks time (I'm not in a hurry anyway). I will call AHPRA end of next week to confirm if they received my IELTS document already.

Hi guys! Just got my eligibility letter today and I would like to thank all the contributors of this forum most especially to cioman=)Here is the time frame of my application with AHPRA Western Australia.
July 9, 2011: sent all documents to AHPRA
July 17: I received an email from AHPRA confirming receipt of documents.
July 21: I received another email from AHPRA stating that my documents are complete.
August 17: AHPRA said that my application is being assessed.
August 29: My assessor asked me to send Certificates of Good Standing from California and UK. I explained that I can not provide them these documents since I am not registered in both countries. I just passed the California NCLEX-RN and was assessed only by NMC. My assessor thanked me for the clarification and said that she had forwarded my application to the Senior Assessor.
Sept. 7: Got my eleigibility letter which is valid for 2 years through email=)
Again, thank you so much!! This forum has helped me and my friends process our application with AHPRA.=)
wow! good for you..i also sent my application to AHPRA Western Australia..i hope I receive my eligibility letter soon too. The most recent letter told me that my application is currently being assessed.I'm curious, was your eligibility letter automatically sent through email or did you personally ask them to inform you that way instead of the regular mail..thanks..
