Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
hi everyone!i am planning to pass my documents tomorrow. and i really need your help. i have attached the documents that i know i have. but my main problem is filling up agos -04, specially for the following questions: (kindly enlighten me about this, i'm begging you t_t)
question no 6. is your residential address the same as your principal place of practice/employment in australia?
(i'm confused what to write on this item; i'm choosing between my longest employment period but it was not recent, or the one that i'm currently employed to?)
[/i]
question 11. what are the details of your qualifications and examinations/assessments?
(what will i suppose to write? does it include my ielts exam, bachelor's degree and secondary education? or just my registration as a nurse (prc) only?)
your help will be appreciated, as in! :)
tia.. god bless us all!
#6 no, you must put the current employer.
#11 i placed my bsn, rn, qualifications as well as the ielts
hi everyone!
i need your opinion on this matter.
the required ielts band score is 7 across for all the 4 components. and is applicable for application for registration as a registered nurse in au. the applicant was able to meet the over-all band score of 7 but has 6.5 in one component, and the purpose of submission of requirements is for assessment only. what do you think ahpra will do with such case?
1.will they proceed on assessing the documents?
2.will they recommend for an ielts retake without the eligibility letter for bp
3. or they will give an eligibility letter and ielts result depends on where you take the bp?
note: considering that the application's only problem is the ielts result.

ahpra will most likely require the applicant to resit the ielts before they could go further in assessing the application. ielts is ahpra's requirement (as well as diac's, but that's for later). some schools don't even need to sight the ielts, like con. for them the eligibility letter from ahpra is evidence enough that you have satisfied the needed english language proficiency. suffice to say, before an eligibility letter is provided, ielts (7 in each component) must be submitted.

oh, i see. thank you for that.
but can you enlighten me on what i know regarding this?
ahpra will be the one to assess if you are eligible for registration, so since you have been given a letter for eligibility to undergo a bp, is it because you are not yet eligible for registration (your qualification was not enough for their standards)? and since you have not provided the required band score. do they have the right to at least give the applicant an option to resit for ielts/ undergo english course while doing the bp?
tia :)

applicants need to meet all requirements before ahpra issues a decision before application. otherwise, we would have seen other applicants without the required ielts score doing bp while trying to meet the required score. i mean, you can try. but it is highly likely that they will ask you to retake the exam before anything else. if you didn't meet the required score, i suggest that you just retake the exam, so you can save time.

i dont understand your question but anyway, ahpra is the one who is responsibile in giving out the letter of eligibility to any qualified applicant who wishes to undergo bp.
if you want to bypass ielts, try to contact ahpra as ive read in this forum that some students were able to do so. but to mind you, a score of 7 in each of the subtests is one of the requirements not only by ahpra but by the department of immigration as well.
just sent applications to ihna and hph. god bless us all!

it depends. As for me, I completed my application requirements first then requested the docs from PRC. I asked to mail it through DHL so both packs can be mailed at the same time.
