New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

IHNA tuition is 11,000aud and an applicant must have at least a minimum of 2 years of experience of which 1 year must be in in medical surgical, this info is from the application form of IHNA and enrollment is full up to January 2012, next available intake is march 2012.

Really? Are they not going to have the Feb intake anymore? :(

i recommend 456,its faster and cheaper, just around 5thou pesos, compared to student visa which costs 27thou plus longer processing time.but both visa have different perks, depends upon which is applicable for you.

But isn't it that each entry duration for the Business 456 is just 3 months? Is it more advisable compared with the student visa? IDP says it can be extended for up to 2 months after your BP... ?

Really? Are they not going to have the Feb intake anymore? :(

This refers to IHNA Perth only, their intake for 2012 are in January and March,no February intake since the January intake starts on the 3rd week of January, IHNA Melbourne has an earlier intake in 1st week of January 2012, so then it follows that they have intakes for February and March as well.:D

Hi everyone! I am a newbie here. I would just like to clarify some things. After reading this thread and other links, I have listed the following to be the documents required by APHRA to be eligible for the BP program:

- Valid PRC ID

- Nursing Certificate and Board Rating

- Certificate of Employment

- Certified Copy of Diploma

- Certified Copy of TOR w/ RLE

- Training and Workshop Certificates

- Certified Copy of Birth Certificate

- Certfified Copy of Passport

- Certified Copy of NBI Clearance

- Certified Copy of Good Standing

- Curriculum Vitae

- IELTS result

My questions are:

1. Do I miss anything?

2. Do I need to get these requirements from my nursing school and PRC and send it to APHRA OR do I need to make arrangements with PRC, my nursing school and IELTS to send the required documents to APHRA?

I still have to take my IELTS before I could send my application but am setting a timeline for completing the required documents. I'm planning to enroll in a review center for my IELTS and hopefully I had completed the requirements by the time I get at least 7 in all bands (hahaha...:uhoh3::eek::uhoh3:). Just being positive as I find the entire process frustrating from the requirements to BP hunting, not to mention the waiting time. I've been reading this thread for weeks and grasping things step-by-step. Thanks for your reply! =)

The certificate of good standing should not be a certified copy. It must be requested from PRC and they(PRC) should send it to AHPRA. As for the board certificate and PRC license you can send it along with your application pack. Hope this helps :)

thanks for your reply! how about the diploma and tor? do i need to ask my nursing school to send it to APHRA, as well? how about the IELTS result?

Hi everyone, am just a newbie here in this site and this would be my fist post...:)

situation is, currently I have a decision letter already coming from AHPRA Perth but I want to do my BP in NSW since my relatives are there. Maybe I made you confuse why I made my registration in Perth, it is because I was once advised that there is an institution in Perth offering a cheaper tuition fee for like $360 AUD. If anyone knows can you pls share what other institutions offering a lesser cost for this BP... specially those that are near in NSW?? :)

All documents other than the certificate of good standing must be sent together with your application. So it's just the good standing that must be sent directly to AHPRA by PRC.

sorry i forgot just wanna clarify, how about the IELTS... So the original copy of the IELTS result should be sent together with other documents, or just a certified copy, or should the IDP/BritishCouncil should send directly the result to ahpra...??? dementia me..

Applications from the Uk, Ireland and USA have increased dramatically, many of those with experience, including Filipino RNs's that have been working in the UK. in the past 3 months in applications to Register in Australia, this is another reason why the processing is taking so long, it was unprecedented....

Hi Ceridwyn, reading your post has caches my attention, I'm currently here in the UK but I am a Filipina RN I do have the decision letter from Ahpra Perth already now my question is what sort of visa should I apply for to do my BP?

I am planning as well to do my BP in NSW since my family relatives are there, Im considering as well to do the BP in Perth as someone advised me that there is an institution where the tuition fee is more like cheaper ($360 AUD) only compare to other institutions that are more expensive. or perhaps you can advise me regarding to what school I should enrol and those institutions who are offering a lower tuition fees.

thank you.

Hi Guys,

I would like to ask for your opinion/advice. I just got a letter of offer from ETEA for their Oct 3 intake. But the problem is, their tuition fee is Au 14k. It's very expensive!!!! I submitted application to other BP schools. My first choice would have been Mercy Health for their Nov intake. But the person in charge is on sick leave and she emailed me to give her 5 more days to assess my application. Mercy Health is a chain of hospitals and at the same time they have a nursing home. Their tuition fee is only Au 10K.

By the way, I have 21 months work experience as an ER nurse. Would it be a good idea to wait for other offers? ETEA is only giving me 1 week to pay for the tuition fee.

mate, your question is like those questions in our life which we do not know the answer until when the time comes.. it's hard to know which is which would be best for you.. both are good choices but which is the best, in this situation, prayer is the key... but either way, you are on the right track anyway.. good luck..
