New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

guys. anyone heard of IDP processing for BP w/o any fees? my nurse friend referred me to IDP and he's also planning to work in Aus via IDP. I called IDP and got an appointment this Thursday... any ideas regarding this before I have a chat with them? TIA.

the last time ive heard is that it is free/without fees... but my presumption is that they would received commission from the school they referred, there's no problem with that.. my only reminder is that for you to listen to them and open up your mind and ask ALL options that they can offer you (not just the options they will discuss with you).. afterwhich, you double check the info you got with us so that we can comment for your benefit..

months ago, an applicant was offered those 6 month or 12 month programs... 3 month BP was not discussed to the applicant...

but yes, they said indeed without fees as far as one of the forumers here had said..

I agree, they do not discuss the 3 month BP! My friend who attended a seminar in IDP got so amazed that I'm only doing a 3-month course.

Hi Guys,

I would like to ask for your opinion/advice. I just got a letter of offer from ETEA for their Oct 3 intake. But the problem is, their tuition fee is Au 14k. It's very expensive!!!! I submitted application to other BP schools. My first choice would have been Mercy Health for their Nov intake. But the person in charge is on sick leave and she emailed me to give her 5 more days to assess my application. Mercy Health is a chain of hospitals and at the same time they have a nursing home. Their tuition fee is only Au 10K.

By the way, I have 21 months work experience as an ER nurse. Would it be a good idea to wait for other offers? ETEA is only giving me 1 week to pay for the tuition fee.

IHNA in Perth is full till January next year, soonest possible intake is march 2012, better try IHNA melbourne. :)

can student visa be converted to tourist visa while the student is in Australia? If not, what is the best option to lengthen the stay in Australia if after the BP, there is no available 457 sponsorship yet.

Does student visa has a "no further stay" clause?

congrats to you! I submitted an application to ETEA also. No response yet. How long did you wait for the letter of offer? Were you interviewed?

I also submitted an application to Mercy Health.

Emailed my application Aug 1. They emailed their acknowledgement of my application on Aug 5. They said I am waitlisted for the next intake. There was no interview at all. ;)
