New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Finally, got my volunteer certificate after 5 months of waiting!

Will lodge my application next week. Good luck to us!

etea sept intake anyone?

i think my frend is for october batch

It sounds like you are going for a Graduate Nurse Program. It's usually for a year and you are rotated in 3-4 wards. Please check with your IDP (what's IDP?) I don't know if it's the same as BP. Whether it is GNP or BP as long as it is not an EN course. No offence to all ENs reading this thread.

Doing an EN course will never get you a PR.

You don't/can't apply for a work permit. What you must do before you finish your BP is find an employer who will be willing to sponsor you for a work visa. They are few and far between because of the GFC but they are there for people who work for it.

hey bobby..the immigration consultancy that im applying now said also that i am no longer required to take the ielts..and until now i am quite doubtful about it..can i have your email add if u don't mind?

Hi everyone,

I just got my IELTS test results online ( I took it July 30). I passed!!!! Whehew!!!! And I just got an offer from AAON for their sept intake. They still have to assess the documents I submitted. Still lack some vaccinations though. I'm trying to finish everything by tomorrow so I can email the rest of the docs immediately. I hope I still have time to finish all the necessary preparations before classes start on Sept 8. One step closer to my ozzie dream.

Isingrn, I hope we can be classmates.:yeah::clown::clown::clown:

hi Isingrn & joemike!:) what are the requirements for AAON? the duration and the tuition fee as well. i guess there's something wrong with their site. thanks!:)

any news if ETEA will open september intake?

@joemike, when did you apply for AAON? I submitted my application last august 2 but am not sure if I will be included in for the sept enrollees.

Hi. just in case you don't get my PM, you don't need to do IELTS if you are coming in to study as an EN but you will definitely not get work visa with this route. As an RN in the Philippines, you should take the IELTS and apply through AHPRA then do your Bridging Course. Some schools even demand that you have passed the IELTS before you apply with them. Consultany firms and agencies are there to make money. They will tell you what you want to hear.

Back read a bit more.

Specializes in ICU/MS.

after 6 weeks... i now have my eligibility letter. all praise to God!

the eligibility letter does not say the word eligible in it right? i received a letter that says i have to complete a bridging program. is this the eligibility letter? lol

Specializes in Medical Surgical Ward.

@Markgian: Congrats! to God be the Glory!

@Zrach: eligibility letter specifies that you are eligible/qualified to do the bridging program..

This wait is killing me. It's been 8 weeks since I received my receipt from my processing officer that my documents are complete. Should I resign from my nursing work if I get that eligibility letter? Please pray for me. (lodged my papers at WA)
