Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Hi everyone! Just want to share...after 7 months of waiting and praying so hard...I finally received my eligibility letter. At first I got so anxious cause I don't have any clinical experience but there's really nothing impossible if we keep our hopes high...And let's always remember...all good things come to those who wait...

Congrats isingrn!! Did you apply in Vic??
Just a quick query to those who already have their much awaited correspondence from AHPRA. How long does it usually take to release an 'eligibility letter' once a case manager handles an application? Thanks in advance..
No one knows, its a case case basis but basing from the experiences of others and reading posts of others who received their eligibility letter I would send it to WA.

CONGRATS! :yeah:
Good day everyone! I finally sent my documents to AHPRA last April. I am told that I should be getting a notification from AHPRA that they have received all my documents. However, I haven't received an e-mail from them. I wonder if this is normal. Another thing is, my mom found out that the AHPRA fee was deducted from her credit card balance. Does that mean that they have started assessing my papers? *crossing my fingers* I sent my application at the Sydney, NSW AHPRA office, by the way. I am really worried.

Some BP schools don't even care if your IELTS has already expired by the time you take the BP. This I know because I also have the same dilemma and I have already asked 2 schools. The letter from AHPRA will suffice. An eligibility letter means you have satisfied AHPRA's English requirement. But you will eventually need a valid IELTS for DIAC to process your working visa. So if your aiming to 'not come back' here in the Philippines after your BP then I suggest you re-take your IELTS here so that by the time you obtain your registration and have successfully found an employer willing to sponsor you then everything will be smooth sailing from then on... Not unless you are willing to spend more by taking the IELTS or OET in AU.
