New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

ok, i tried looking for the answer to my question but this thread is quite long ..... how much is the show money if one 's married ?

Also, which of the BP schools are still available for this year?

Hope someone can enlighten me on this.... thanks in advance :-)

i do not know the answer, i can only remember just once somebody gave some computation.. sadly i forgot the page... also, most of them are not active here already.. but if you will come here with your family then that's a big sum to raise, but if you just come here by yourself initially then you will required like a single person..

tip for those who are prepared to apply to Ahpra. Apply to AHPRA WA because they process really fast..i have 2 friends who had their eligibility after 1 1/2 month of application. WA's eligibility also is for 2 years unlike other states such as victoria, qld, etc which gives only a year. #justwannashare

im really very curious.. they all should have same term of eligibility (i.e. 2 years).. makes me wonder..

so aphra doesn't have a standard address where we will mail our applications?

Yeah you're right cioman94 thats what i also thought. Every state should have the same policy now, thats why they came up with ahpra right?

for those who are seriously considering applying Australia nurse registration, please read page 01 of this thread, and read the AHPRA website... just be patient and you must spend time to click, research and read, as it is your money and career which are at stake...

when i say "be patient" and "spend time", well this is what i did: way back then there were 8 nursing boards in australia, each has its own website, i read each website.. i spent 6-9 hours a day, for 3 straight weeks.. result? = i got my australian nursing registration in 2 weeks after they received my application (outright registration, no BP), i just paid application and registration fees which amounted to only less than $150. ...my point is, that's the value of patience and taking effort.. it's all for your own good..

now, you will only read one website, just one website.. just one.. as in one..

@cioman94

i will try that one sir, i'll take time reading everything one by one

thanks for your advice :)

@haydeeting,

I was oriented by my agency a convertion training course for 1 year, they said that after the study i will be recognized as a Registered nurse in Australia. However, when I received my letter of offer from the University of Ballarat. they offered me a course of Bachelor of Nursing (Post Registration) (by the way, this was process by my agency also) so in other words they lied to me. However, i am still interested with this course Bachelor of Nursing (Post registration), after finishing this course you will not be registered as Australian Nurse or become a division 1 nurse but after finishing a 6 months or 1 sem of this course you can enrol to a program under IRON which is better.. The bottom line here is to be able to pass the IELTS because it is one of the requirements that is needed by the AHPRA.

I know most of us RN in the Philippines are trying to get the band score of 7 which nowadays seems so hard to have that kind of score.

For those who have already, studied the Bachelor of Nursing (Post registration)and finished the course. Can you atleast tell us what we expect if we have to pursue this course..I mean finding a job?

I'm still searching for the answer here..somebody indeed posted it quite some time ago. lesson learned: If you find something useful, copy-paste the post :D

thanks Cioman94

this is quite off topic... just want to know your thoughts with this...

Does your college of nursing provided your detailed internships as to where and when it took place? I doubt if I could be able to remember and recall memories of the past hehe :) Thanks for any response

Is there really an AHPRA branch that processes application faster? I'm quite curious about it.
