New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

uhmm.. i just think that.. they will not allow you to take the bridging course if you havent passed any requirements at all to them.. especially ielts. i am sorry guys to mention this.. i think that australia is one of the easiest country for a nurse to apply as an rn because of ielts as the only test we will take to be eligible to apply, aside from the exams we will do in the bp course. :) anyway i believe that we can all do it! cheers mate :D

(easiest :smokin:) and very expensive i reckon :twocents:.. hence we (who can afford) can all do it!

if you can, better take the IELTS while in the Phils.. it will be very favorable on your part down the line.. think ahead, and you will realize what i mean..

1) Whoever will accept you and whichever you can afford, then choose it..

2) Yes BP fee cheaper.. cost of living, doesnt differ much unless you live in rural..

3) state with work opportunities? depends on your qualifications not on the state.. BP slots, Victoria of course!

Thank you for answering my question..if i may ask, are you in Victoria right now? maybe if theres not a big difference on the cost of BP in WA and VIC. might as well go for VIC,,thats the thing on my mind, because i heard Hollywood and DOH is really full this year.

Hi everyone,

I got this message from ahpra this morning. My payment for the application fee was posted Mar 9, 2011. Early this month, I emailed them twice asking for the status of my application. My question is, how would you count the 8 weeks mentioned in the email? From Mar 9, 2011? Or from today that I received the email? I'm anxious because I'm trying to catch the earlier intake in one of the BP schools that has already pre-approved my application pending my ahpra approval. As for the reminder mentioned, I have already sent my PRC endorsement simultaneously with my application documents and IELTS. Anybody who has gone through this experience who can share some insights will be greatly appreciated. And the waiting continues........:yawn::yawn::coollook::coollook::coollook::confused::confused::confused:

Have y0u applied to Hollywood Private HOspital?

1) costs

2) experience requirements

3) WA came late becoming AHPRA member

ya. that experience thing does cause a problem... do you know if there's a difference between a bridging program and a pre-registration program? Thanks cioman94, you've been very helpful :)

1) if using DHL - send to AHPRA 'office address'

2) if using Phil.Post - send to AHPRA 'PO Box address'

dont ask why.. Nike.. just do it... cheers!

REally?!?! oh no! i used the PO Box address for everything even if it was sent through DHL! You think they'll receive it? :(

student visa - 1-3 months processing..

you'll be fine with your plan.. cheers!

oh no. it takes a while. i guess i really wont make it to the oct intake. can i apply for the student visa without an acceptance letter to the school? What are the requirements?

I wonder if you are not mistaken. DHL, UPS, FED EX do not accept PO Box as addresses of recepients. They need a building or office address. That way, somebody will sign the receipt of the package or document.

hi everyone!

can you use your eligibility to every state? for instance, can you use your eligibility in SA in a BP provider in say WA or NT?

Just wondering coz im planning to lodge my application to SA but im afraid i might not get a BP slot on SA.

or maybe i should just lodge it to Darwin?, hmm i actually trying to look for a faster processing route as my IELTS will be expiring soon. :(
