Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

ceridwen and mik, how did you go about the vaccination?did u just print and show them the documents from the NSW Health website?
did the doctors just sign the documents or did they give you some other sort of certification?
Yes I printed a copy of the required immunisations from the NSW Health Website and gave my doctor a copy of it.
The pedia MD who is attending to me said I will have the Record of Immunisations and a Certification. For the chicken pox my family doctor will certify that I had it already during my high school days and just indicate the marks still present in parts of my body until now (i have a few scars left). The HepB just prepare the result of titer test and record of shots. Hmm what else...MMR really have to receive the 2 doses and 1 dose adult DPT. I don't know if the mantoux test (TST) is still necessary as we have been cleared by the accredited panel of doctor? this I am not sure...maybe I'll just have the mantoux test then (as suggested by cioman94 before in his old post)...TST + cleared from DIAC panel of doctors.
Ok.. talk to you later guys. Going out first :) Goodluck!

miks103 is right.
the doctor filled out the "nsw's vaccination record card for health workers / students" and i also asked them a separate certificate that says "this is to certify that (name) has been vaccinated with the following (name of vaccines) on (date)". also don't forget your diagnostic tests like anti-HBs, cxr, tst, etc :)
can anyone clear the issue on the batch number of vaccines? i overlooked this detail

Yay, you mean those forms you posted here? I didn't have those filled up... I meant like the "baby book" thing... like a pamphlet.... is that form necessary? CoN asked you to have those filled up? they never gave me a copy of the form...
I actually am constantly keeping in touch with them about my application, but no words if they got it. i hope theyll be able to receive it soon. hehe
mik i think its because you have an authorised agent... because my emails they also never reply anymore, but instead they write my sister in law and she is the one giving me feedback hehe... try asking your relative mik :)

When I asked Ms.xxxxx about the immunisations, she just told me to refer to the NSW health website... i did post the link here before, the one for category 1 applicants/students. Anyway, its indicated there also what documents/evidences are acceptable :)
I was issued like a new baby book lol

i will have my 2nd dose of mmr and varicella this week then i'm done. where/to whom will we have our immunization documents checked? i want mine validated if it's already complete or still lacking. i asked ms.**** (the con admin asst) regarding this and she told me she can't answer that and i should ask the course coordinator instead. so who's the course coordinator? :) do you know the e-mail address of the nsw health dept? i can't seem to find it on their website or google. i'm confused if the immunization is a con requirement or an nsw health dept requirement.

errr do you have to have it validated already? i didnt think that was the case... from what I understand it is upon your arrival in NSW that you will be checked for your criminal record and immunisations through the school... just go over the NSW health website, ill check on it later too :)
@ceridwenrn
ok.. here it is.. i knew i read it somewhere...its in the con website:
http://www.nursing.edu.au/oqn/
criminal record check and prohibited employment declaration
nsw health department policy requires all participants undertaking clinical placement to undertake a criminal record check and sign a prohibited employment declaration.
prior to lodgement of a criminal record check applicants are required to:
on enrolment day the steps for preparing to lodge a criminal record check will be completed. a delegate of the college is required to sight original identifying documents totalling at least 100 points and keep a record.
participants will be issued with a clearance for clinical placement card which must be carried while on clinical placement.
immunisation
nsw health department policy requires participants to comply with its policy of vaccination against infectious diseases.
on enrolment day participants are required to provide evidence of protection according to the following table. acceptable evidence of protection includes a written record of vaccination signed by the provider and in some cases serological confirmation of protection.
***sorry i can't paste the table here and i'm feeling lazy to edit it lol, just refer to the link above :)
further information, including details of chest clinics and accredited tst providers, is available at the following web site:
http://www.health.nsw.gov.au/ohs_vaccination/
participants are required to carry the adult vaccination record card showing evidence of protection with them when on clinical placement.
--------------------------
since there isn't an enrollment/orientation day already (i asked about this actually with xxxxx and she said for 2011 no more enrollment/orientation day, and no more pre-reading materials) ... so probably it will be during our first day of classes.. just maybe
