New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Ok. Tell you what... go to http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/forms.aspx and try to download the AGOS-4 form again. I think you have an old copy or something. The one on the site is the latest. Question 16 should go like this:

16. Have you completed:

• secondary education taught and assessed in English to

the requisite level for entry into a nursing or midwifery

program: and

• a nursing or midwifery program taught and assessed in

English

I have the subjects Filipino also in my transcript...it didn't pose any problem. Most importantly are your core nursing subjects. Course description? I mean is it required? because I never submitted a course description to AHPRA and I don't recall it being asked too...is it a new requirement?

Translation... i read somewhere about an accredited translator...i just can't recall where...

I have my TOR translated before, well, that's for another country. I used the search engine here and at APHRA's website entering the word "translation", but the results were not the one I am looking for.

About Course Description, I think I read it somewhere that they submitted theirs too along with the other requirements but, yes, I cannot see any detail regarding that form. I'm just preparing it if the need for it may arise.

Thank you for your answer.

Hmm I do remember before some submitted that but I think that was before AHPRA when the different states had different requirements :) For AHPRA you don't need the course description. I also prepared mine but its for ANMAC assessment (migration purposes). Anyway goodluck :)

hello! after getting my nursing registration can i immediately apply to ANMAC for the general skilled migration (or whatever category)?

You gotta have yourself assessed by ANMAC first as suitable for migration. You can refer to their website for more information. :)

hey guys! I just want to ask if the document of accommodation is needed when applying for a 456 visa. I have looking for an apartment in burwood, nsw but most of them seem to have no idea what kind of documentation is needed. Did you include anything similar to that in your 456 visa application?

Thanks!

I think if you got enough show money to cover your living expenses then you won't actually need that. The key there is actually having enough funds to sustain your living conditions. As for me I had my sister-in-law make an Affidavit of Support for my living expenses :)

Hello everyone ! It's good to know that many are planning to do their BP at CON burwood good luck guys. I'm planning also to submit my application to CON burwood once i receive my eligibility from aphra hopefully in the next 3-4 months. :smokin::D

Anyway for those who are still planning to submit their application to APHRA NT I suggest you choose APHRA NSW or other office. 2 days ago I was informed that my application was forwarded to APHRA NSW for assessment after 3 months of no update , the senior registration officer from APHRA NT told me that NSW office "are the best team to be assessing overseas applications". I dunno if it applies to all overseas applicants but I think someone here in this thread has the same case as mine but he/she submitted his/her application to APHRA Victoria( not sure). BTW I submitted my application last Oct 28 and received my receipt after 2 weeks.

For those interested about ACFE in Melbourne, the course fee is 11,950 AUS $, next intakes: April , September.

hello macpao87! i replied to your text. here you can find the documents needed for the 456 visa. fortunately, you don't have to worry about the document of accommodation. how were you able to come up with that question anyway? seems to me you are very meticulous in your preparation. that's great! i agree with miks103, documented evidence of funds would suffice.

to my con classmates: can you picture yourself studying in an oz college/university, doing RN duties in an oz hospital or nursing home, and have oz people surround you? everything is still very surreal to me! i can't believe months from now i will be able to do all of that! :heartbeat

I wonder why I haven't received an e-mail yet. :( Could it mean it was misplaced? :( To which office of AHPRA did you send it? Thanks so much!

I sent mine in Melbourne,Vic:).

Would read up on criteria for skilled migration with no paid expeince and exceptance of

Education they do clarify exepting um USA eu singapore canada countries but will except other Ien nurses if they have worked in eany of these countries for 3 months. Also to get skilled migration you need 65 points. Difficult to achieve this if you do not have at least 3years experience unless you have a relative that can sponsor you. It is not as straight forward as it looks.

I sent mine to Melbourne, Vic as well. I guess I'll just call AHPRA tomorrow to confirm if they received mine.
