Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
You have any facebook account? Yeahh.. I suppose cause I was just having training there in the hospital but as what I read on the AGOS form, they defined practice as something in which a nurse uses his/her skills directly/indirectly even without renumeration as long as it is recognized by the licensing authority here.. Anyways, I applied last year and I got in the middle of transition period. As a result, they mailed back my papers together with the form and waived the payment for the next assessment..
Oh, where did you apply? Victoria? I also got caught in the transition but they didn't send me back my papers, they just emailed me to submit the New Application Form and CV. Btw, mine is NSW. Goodluck, you're in the right track :)
I've been reading this thread for 3 days time now, this is my first post and this is really helpful for me as a beginner applicant in Aussie. Im currently working in a Hospital as a staff nurse and im planning to resign after I gained 1 year experience afterwards my plans are:
1. Gather all my documents school, hospital and PRC stuffs.
2. Review for IELTS and hopefully Ace the exam.
3. Apply in AHPRA
I hope everything will go well!
Goodluck to all aspirant Australian RN!
I have some questions, I hope someone can answer:
How do you translate documents not in English? What is AHPRA's guideline about it?
Here's a copy from AGOS-04:
You MUST attach a certified copy of ALL your academic
qualification(s) e.g. academic transcript mentioned within this
form. Where educational institutions verify academic results at
completion of your course directly to AHPRA, attachments are
not required.
If original documents are not in English, you must provide
a certified copy of the original document and translation in
accordance with the AHPRA’s guidelines.
---
I have two Filipino subjects during college, as I expect most Filipinos have it too. My transcript of record bears the name of the subjects and my course description also delineates both subject all in Filipino. Do I need to make a translation about the said information? I guess I need to. But how can I make sure that the translation I will attach is acceptable to AHPRA's guidelines?
I am not in hurry, anyway. I hope someone can give an answer. Thank you.
I just got an email from AHPRA (which is auto generated) that they have already received my documents and is currently being assessed.
I'm so happy! It feels overwhelming that I am a step closer already. Haha. Although I just sent my request for IELTS yesterday and will go to PRC next week. I hope everything will be fine.
To those still doing their application, I suggest you write down notes on important matters being discussed in this thread so you won't be asking the questions which have been answered already.

Hi! When did you send your application to AHPRA? According to my courier, they delivered mine to AHPRA on Feb 14. I haven't received an e-mail yet though. Thanks :)
