New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand Part 2

Published

Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.

Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses

I have some questions, I hope someone can answer:

I have two Filipino subjects during college, as I expect most Filipinos have it too. My transcript of record bears the name of the subjects and my course description also delineates both subject all in Filipino. Do I need to make a translation about the said information? I guess I need to. But how can I make sure that the translation I will attach is acceptable to AHPRA's guidelines?

I am not in hurry, anyway. I hope someone can give an answer. Thank you.

I have the subjects Filipino also in my transcript...it didn't pose any problem. Most importantly are your core nursing subjects. Course description? I mean is it required? because I never submitted a course description to AHPRA and I don't recall it being asked too...is it a new requirement?

Translation... i read somewhere about an accredited translator...i just can't recall where...

I just got an email from AHPRA (which is auto generated) that they have already received my documents and is currently being assessed.

I'm so happy! It feels overwhelming that I am a step closer already. Haha. Although I just sent my request for IELTS yesterday and will go to PRC next week. I hope everything will be fine.

To those still doing their application, I suggest you write down notes on important matters being discussed in this thread so you won't be asking the questions which have been answered already.

Congratulations! Although that is quite the normal time frame because that is the standard operating procedure of the Receiving Department that's why its auto-generated, but it is a sign of relief too because you know your papers have reached them :) The more exciting part will come when you are already contacted by your case officer, try your best to send over your IELTS and PRC already so that your case officer can all review them at one time :) Goodluck!

Question number 16 asks 'Did you qualify as a health practitioner outside Australia?'

Should I answer yes or no?

We qualified right? If we are registered here in the Philippines.?

Or didn't I get the thought?

@ arjay_723, are you referring to the AGOS-04 Form? Because the question in no. 16 is HAVE YOU COMPLETED:

> Secondary education taught and assessed in English to the requisite level for entry into a nursing or midwifery program: and

> A nursing or midwifery program taught and assessed in English

That is why in my previous post, I wrote the answer NO for question no. 16, then you have to arranged with your IELTS provider to forward directly to AHPRA a copy of your results. Unless there is a new form??? Kindly update me, thanks. :nurse:
