Due to recent changes regarding applications for International nurses to Australia and the combining of the nursing boards to one central nursing board in Australia AHPRA I have started a new thread for people to discuss the new process on working in Australia.
Currently New Zealand is not accepting new applicants from International trained nurses except those that meet the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Agreement {TTMR} this will be updated once the New Zealand nursing board reopen their books to International nurses.

Part 1 thread New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand - Nursing for Nurses
do you expect me to backread 172 pages?thats why im asking coz i can not find the answer.
whats the "!" for???
how sure are you that my questions have been answered? i used the search box but could not find anything!!
No..though many do.....usually most of the information is in the first 10 pages.
I'm sorry if you thought the "!" was offensive. I promise you no offense was meant.
my bad then
anyway, i think i found the answer for #6.
again, in regard to Section C: Qualification for the profession, what did you put in there?
-BSN
-NLE
-NCLEX
-IELTS
or just
-BSN only as this is the primary qualification while NLE and NCLEX fall under registration history; IELTS on the other hand will be used as evidence for #16
is IVT, BLS part of the qualification for the profession? i guess not but i just want to be assured
still cant find how you guys paid for the fees. did you fill out the credit card details? is it safe? is there an option to just pay online?

Same page and onwards also are discussions on question #6 and other items of the application form, also about fees involved.
I also used credit card in paying my fees. :)
for those who are new here, this is just a friendly advice, it is to your benefit that once you "get in" this thread, then continue to read the thread and do not miss any page even if you will not post anything.. you better take my advice seriously for your own good (not mine).. ive seen the best and worst here, ive been involved with the best and worst here, it is really for your own benefit not to miss reading any page when you "get in".. a good example is the recent posts that AHPRA is still evaluating her/his application because of the concern raised on his/her nursing school.. that's an important update, if some of us here will not be able to read that, sorry..
another thing, many times i have posted here and warned anyone who is in the philippines yet but was approved of 457 visa, he/she must obtain OEC.. my new colleague RN is a good example for this because she did not know about it, and so everything was set, she was already in NAIA, then you know what happen, she cannot go! must have OEC.. so if nobody bother to read that page about OEC here in this thread.. sorry.. it may happen to him/her what happened to my colleage RN now..
i just hope i got my point across.. cheers!
yup i submitted my application 1st week october. i did take up nursing from a university here in cebu but i was on the pioneering batch of the nursing program for that school and yes, i would understand if they find my university underqualified or substandard. but does that mean another uhmm... 5 months wait perhaps before the board assessment?
haydeeting, i think the "5 months wait" is just your secondary concern.. you're primary concern should be that AHPRA must consider favorably your school's status whether you wait 5 or 10 mos.. anyway, just a thought..
but this is a concern indeed for all of us, and yes i remember ceridwyn gave this warning before..
thank you, was it from an Australian lawyer? Or just any lawyer? thank you!
the P100 per page certification fee is a reasonable price... but for example if you have a document with 3 pages like TOR, you can haggle for a discounted price of instead paying P300 perhaps P150 because it is same document anyway.. in my case, it is P100 per DOCUMENT, irregardles of the number of pages of certain document, thus my TOR was just charge as P100..
what does it take to be an Australia Enrolled Nurse? Since, as far as I can understand, enrolled nurses have more vacancies compared to registered nurses.Being an enrolled nurse is fine with me as long as I get employed in Australia
im not yet inclined to say that there are more EN vacancies than RN.. i havent checked it really, so i do not know honestly whether i agree with you about that.. anyways, maybe ceridwyn can help us on this.. no worries..
im not sure if EN is eligible for 457 visa.. but let's say it is, then i strongly believe that EN is not eligible for PR.. of course it is a different story if you marry a Filipino/na PR RN or an Australian, well that will make you a PR..
now, can you apply by downgrading to EN, my opinion, yes i think you can, there are history (prior AHPRA though) that their application was downgraded to EN (but they did not continue with being EN)..

Lets hope not.....this was bound to happen in nursing as my accountant tried to sponsor a Fillipino by nationality person 2 years ago and found his accountancy degree not recognised, it was thought to be equivalent to a diploma or certificate 4 from Tafe by Australian standards and you need to have a degree if the profession here is degree. I do not know now how AHPRA are going to suggest to those who are thought not to be equivalent to Australian nursing degree....possibly may suggest a two-one year course at an Australian uni, depends. Positive thoughts..
