New grad Filipino nurse wanting to work in Australia/New Zealand

Updated:   Published

Hi everyone, please help me.

I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.

Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.

That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.

However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.

I already have my bachelors degree here.

When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?

After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?

Thank you!

im considering UB-WLI at the moment. was given an offer letter for the september intake. :)

yup, i was referring to the requirements of VCHN... not the NBV. i dont know if NBV has that new requirement but when i applied last april, they did not require.

hi ricardo. I just want to clarify something. :) you sent your application to NBV last april and you received your letter of eligibility a month after which is May??? If so, wow, thats the quickest approval of application ive ever heard from a member here. :)

newmac,

WLI? what and where is that? hmmm september is earlier than october... im thinking of applying....

university of ballarat offers a bp program thru wli in adelaide, SA. are u done with ur visa?

wli=william light institute

mikyong,

yes that's true!!!

i sent my application march 29, they received it april 7. eligibility letter was dated may 17. but i received it june 1 because snail mail to the philippines is very delayed.

yup it was so soon and i didn't expect it. i know it took others 6 months or more... but for me it took only a month and a few days....

ur one lucky guy ricardo. :)

newmac,

you are right! i just checked it now. WLI's BP is accredited by NBV. let me go/read through with their application process. what schools have you applied?

i havent applied for the 456 visa yet coz i just received my offer letter today after i called up VCHN... how about u?
