Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
Hi guys, I'm just wondering why when there are so many hospitals and schools to do the IRON program and only some are mentioned here like La trobe, Deakin University, ETEA, VCHN. What about the other institutions? Are there any drawbacks like in Robinvale and Mercy Health? is it too far from the city?

some do notn have seats available anymore, some have later intakes, others are not offering their BP this year. :) i called most of them last week. apologies but i don't have my notes here with me so i can't specify the status of each institution.
Some accept very few students, some are far from 'civilization', some needs reaccreditation, some are simply not offering bp this year.
If you back read this thread there's a list of bp providers with their expiry date.
Right now the focus is on deakin, latrobe, etea, vchn and the visas
The focus keeps on changing from time to time
This thread is only meant to supplement the readers knowledge and should not be the first stepping stone
I'll have to say that the visa info completes this thread. All the impt infos that need to be known about aus were said already. I know coz I've read this from page 1
It's enlighting to see the success of our fellow forumers. You can follow how they progressed from confused aus dreaming nurses to being aus nurses themselves.
So to anyone who's a newbie and don't know anything about aus I suggest you do your research first then backread this thread then ask for clarification for those you don't undestand and ask stuffs about those not available on the web or phone
I salute all the helpful forumers. These are the nurses who made this thread so informative and beautiful
is anyone here going to try the conversion? i have no experience that's why im a bit wary to take the bp, although I did pretty good in my clinicals and academics. is the bp really just to orient you to the oz system? do you do the lectures first then clinicals or together?
thanks for any help!:)

i haven't -they just informed me last week that they can not offer me any seat earlier than october. im in talks with the program coordinator to see if anything can be done (literally begging mode) -chances are very slim though. i believe today is holiday down under that's why i haven't heard from her.
but with the recent changes in my plans, i don't mind accepting the "october seat". i think i actually prefer the october intake now. well,, whatever the God provides. :)
Castlemaine's full and alpine health (nice environment :) ) has only 6 or 8 seats for the august intake.
