Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!

rn oz1, may i clarify the benefits that your spouse have in view of your visa status.
as i understand, you are the principal with 457 visa, thus, i assume you have a contract with your hospital in connection with your 457 visa. i know that you cannot work in another company until your contract expires or unless you will apply again another 457 visa. you need to work full time exclusively with your sponsoring hospital.
question, assuming for the sake of example that you spouse is also an RN with Australian RN license, can he work in any hospital? would he be allowed part time work (unlike you, full time talaga)? my understanding is that it seems the spouse of a principal 457 visa holder would have more flexibility in work than the latter?
am i ryt? thank you and good luck to you and family..

My spouse is also an RN, he can work as a PCA,part time or full time (personal care assistant) or take the BP or study if he wants to, he can also work in any job since his 457 visa has no restriction unlike mine.
Hi everyone! I am confused. The NBV asked me to submit my certificate of initial registration. Is that the same with the "PRC diploma"?Thank you!
yep, your initial or your first registration is i assume as a Phil. RN, thus, submit your PRC diploma and PRC ID..
to other NBV applicants, please correct my answer if it is wrong..
@terdjay, youre welcome.yes ive made a stat dec before. but the nbv wasnt very strict that time, they just required me to make a "signed letter" stating this and that. now, i believe you have to obtain a specific form in order for you to do it...
yeah Chadstone, its just a one bus ride away..its our "church"
. chadstone shopping centre one of the reasons why melbourne is dubbed as the fashion capital of australia. but then Philippine malls are way to better than their australian counterpart...Rob Manila or SM Megamall is 5x better than chadstone for me...
when is the next intake of deakin by the way?
to all of you who are a bit concerned of the australian hospital setting..you can go to youtube and search for "all saints", thats a tv medical drama program in australia...its a great tv show specially the daytime edition and not the nightime...you can see how nurses fucntion in the hospital and how they interact with other health professionals and patients...:)
ryan09, my nursing background is in general medicine and Adult ICU.. with this experience, will it be easy for me to learn or adjust to the work/duties of an aged care nurse? any other additional special skills should i learn?
thanks again, sorry for keep asking..
