Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!

Did you know that ielts has bias issues? Ielts in curtin is difficult while in phils less difficult. Why? Because aus has higher standards than in the phils so I suggest you take your ielts there instead of here. Same with India. People who took ielts there passed it with flying colors while an Indian who took ielts in curtin still can't get perfect 7 despite taking it 7 times already. It all comes down to the standard of people grading your writing and speaking. So if lithotomy got perfect 7 he's lucky because his examiners are lenient. And one more thing, I've heard that ielts in baguio is easier than in manila. Get the picture mates? It's a good thing I took my ielts there before going here last year or else I'm in terrible situation too.
With due to respect to the forumers I think that this forum is the best website to complete your research because people here share their true experiences. Since last year I have already been researching how to be a nurse here so when I stumbled on this website I'm already very knowledeable of the process so I know if the forumer is correct or wrong or innocent or has already done little or plenty or even no research before asking for help. All the info you need are on google but some people are too tardy to research for their own sake or to backread the thread so there's always a forumer popping and asking for help from scratch and would rather ask here than research or backread on their own. If you read this thread from page 1 to 450+ there's actually no need to ask for help from scratch again yet plenty of people do that. Like asking how to apply in new south wales the fact that this has already been answered a lot of times or asking ielts score needed in a uni the fact that these were all in google. Yet many people here are helpful bringing out the bayanihan culture of our country and still answer even simple stupid questions. *salute* With regards to not everything here is true, I suggest you think also that this statement is an insult for some of us forumers who do our best in helping and sharing. Fortunately, I still haven't stumbled upon a forumer who lied how to become a nurse in Australia.
With respect to lithotomy I got your point bec. his English in that comment is not worthy of 6 *sorry mate* yet he says he passed. But think also that that can be a typographical error caused by fatigue, or excitement to help others, or using a stupid gadget which makes proofreading difficult. Although some of your arguments are true, it has ruined to some extent the credibility of forumers here which makes it quite unfair for us. You may need to help yourself with some tact. ^_^
The purpose of this forum would be just to help consolidate your knowledge but it has become more than that thanks to the bayanihan system.
Please don't take things here so personal because this thread might be deleted because of some crazy ranting like the 200% dumb thing from both of you. This thread is the holy grail of info so if this thread gets deleted, then that's bye bye to the multitude of info. And who losses? All of us especially the aspiring nurses who want to work here.
I would just like to share that nmbsa emailed me today saying letter of eligibilty is not required for arntp in unisa. The problem is arntp is still waiting for reaccreditation. So once arntp commences again, letter of eligibilty from the national board may now be required during that time.
@ terdjayI was thinking..what if I enrolled for a conversion program under a student visa and then right before the classes start(when I get there in Oz) I decide to enroll instead for a bridging program?Would there be any problems especially with my visa?
I don't know. But if this kind of issue was brought to the attention of related aus authorities this would be a big blow for the Philippines like the fake agencies, fake passports, diplomas, transcripts, prc forms, and IDs made the Filipinos more notorious than ever. Did you know that last year new Zealand almost banned all Filipino nurses if our alumni who is holding a very high nursing position in the our govt did not intervene? She shared this during our in house board review last year. The scenario you just presented now is a good ground for a new racket in the future which will put the phils again in new shame. This is a very sensitive topic because this is political one but if I were you, I wouldn't bother doing that.
In fairness, if you withdraw in time you can get your tuition back and having a 457 visa, this will spare you a lot of trouble after graduating from a 3 mos bridging because it's easy to renew a student visa if you have a sponsor.
Can I get a 2nd opinion fom others? What do you think?
reopening this thread after closing it for a cooling off period. i have removed several threads that took this thread off topic and also terms of service violation with members attacking each other.
can i remind members not to engage in cases which can be seen as attacking but report the post or member using the report button at the bottom left of the post and let the staff deal with it appropriately.

Approval of a student visa from the immigration has several conditions for example student visa for cricos registered bridging course providers sub class 575 or any other sub classes has its specific conditions Check DIMIA website once you breach any of the conditions like what you planned to do like enrolling in a 3months bg course you can not do that you will not be accepted by the BG provider, your visa will be cancelled and you have to leave oz. Please dont try to go arround their policies just be honest DIMIA will assist you they are very helpful as long as you will be honest with your application.

oh gee, sorry for the audacity of asking that question.let me reassure you that it was just a thought that me and my friend wondered about but right now we really think that would not be possible in the first place because the assessment for the bridging program takes a long period of time..
