Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
blinq & chabeli....which visa class. did you guys apply for? (if i may ask is 575 the suitable student visa for nurses who wish to do BP?)
Hello NewMac:)
I am on visa subclass 573 level 2 for Higher Education study since I will be having the program for 6 months duration at Curtin. I believe your program belongs to the non-award sector since you'll be having it in less than 3 months time:)
When did you lodge your application? hmm, I tell you.. this visa thing is far more stressful than waiting for the NLE results:D
Yet, I know we can hurdle all this..It'll be worth the wait then...
Keep in touch!
hi chabeli! happy to know someone who will do the BP in La Trobe, will u be doin it in Bendigo? Im choosin between Deakin and La Trobe. But I think I wont be able to reach the Jan 25, 2010 deadline of Deakin for the second intake on july 2010. Is the selection process for applicants tough at La Trobe?
hi blinq! i havent lodged my visa application. However, I wont be lodging mine at the aus embassy-manila as I am not currently in the phil. I dont know if that works for me or not.
I hope you will receive your good news soon! :)
P.S. do we really have to show lots of money? and what does "lots" actually mean?

hi new mac, yes bendigo...all iron course are in bendigo campus and i have enrolled for jan 2010 class. i just submitted all my requirements before the time and then they corresponded with me right away. i think as long as you're within the timeline so there are free slots then you're in.
they are strict in sticking with their classroom ratio so as long as there are slots it should be fine. i suggest as soon as you have your requirements you send it right away and you can send it via email.
rhanks chabeli!yeah, i saw one option for la trobe -you can actually apply online, and just scan your doc.'s. is that what u did? online application?
yes, that's what i did. i just scanned all my documents although they still have to be certified. just create an account with their ISIS portal. if not email directly to [email protected]
thanks ryan!... appreciate the answer!i think deakin is a good uni. hope ill reach the jan 25, 2010 deadline for the 2nd intake in june 2010. thats why i ask u if you have any idea about the change that the "new board" may bring. I sent an email to nbv and ask about it but didnt get any reply.

i do hope you can make it to the deakin's next intake...:)
hello everyone! i just wanna share the good news... I called up QNC this morning and learned that, finally, i was given a positive assessment result and may undergo competency. I was really nervous all this time because I'm a second courser and I've heard that some 2nd courser applicants were just assessed as EEN's. My timetable is as follows:
last week of JUNE - submitted docs
1st week of OCT - received incomplete assessment, was asked to submit additional docs
1st week of NOV - followed up my application thru email and was informed that the board would meet on NOV 20 and my application would be among those to be evaluated
NOV26 - learned that assessment result was mailed on NOV25 and eligible for CAS
For all those whose applications are also in my time frame, i suggest you follow up thru email or phone.
May we all attain our dreams! To God be the glory!
chabeli

mine is 575 since it's a non-award course. that's how La Trobe Uni also defined the IRON course for me. i know blinq is somehwere on a post grad something... but it's all the same though, how your school defines your course.
