Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
@ryan: you could submit your requirements even w/o ielts first. They will not process you papers unless you completed the necessary requirements
i know that....my papers was assessed a year ago
what i was pertaining to, is the Bridging Program and not the NBV application...:)
as there are course providers who dont need such school credentials mentioned by @chabeli...
and there are institutions who need a copy of the ielts results before they will admit you to the course...:)
i just copied this from one thread same website...
ll documents to support your application have been received. you will be eligible for registration as a nurse in queensland when you have met the following requirements:
1) complied with section 54(3)(b) of the nursing act 1992 by successfully completing an approved english language test; and
2) complied with section 54(4) of the nursing act 1992 by successfully demonstrating nursing competence through an approved process.

thanks ryan09... from what I understand even in the bridge program you need ielts... congratz in advance...do have the review materials? I heard it's hard to find them unless you take the review w/ agency
im talking about the Bridging Program in Victoria and not in Queensland...:)
i think if youre going to do the BP in victoria, you dont have to worry with the materials needed for the training as the training provider will provide you those stuff...
In queensland, you need to have the review materials because you are going take the exams, these exams cover the australian health system and laws and the nursing standards of australia...
Help guys!
Is volunteer experience considered as a work experience? Do I have to state it under the work experince post reg? I was thinking if I will just not declare it so as to save me from getting the certification because that is my problem right now. Hope you could help me. Big thanks!
hey, hang on...im confused now...so you have submitted your application to la trobe without ielts?i havent got the board cert...i only have cert. of registration...
(ha! so hard to apply at la trobe, looks like i just have to apply at deakin in this case)...
I submitted my old ielts score which did not make the all 7.0 bandscore... and i told them, i will give another result on october 9th. they called me up and told me that my status is currently pending.
you can apply through email with them. i guess cert of registration is fine.
hi guys!i just want to ask this. if i work as an enrolled nurse in australia, can i still bring my family with me?
yes, a student visa allows you to bring family members although it has a bigger financial requirement. like you have to show money that you can provide for your family for the first year in australia including sending your school-aged children to school .

if you don't have the certification, then you should not declare it. i did not declare any volunteer experience because it ws only for 3 months, lol. So in my NBV application, i just wrote, no post registration work experience.
