Hi everyone, please help me.
I graduated last march 2007 here in the Philippines and I have my license here already.
Because of oversupply of nurses here, it's too difficult to find a job.
That's why I'm looking forward to working in Australia or New Zealand.
However, I'm confused. Esp about Australia.
I already have my bachelors degree here.
When I go there in Aus to work as RN, must I take a diploma in nursing first? can I work while studying?
After obtaining my diploma there, am I already a registered nurse?
Thank you!
I bought two way ticket and I have the return trip refunded (takes 3-5 months with PAL). But I know of some who just bought one way ticket and it was okay. They just signed a waiver with the airline. You might as well do that. You have the burden of proof to prove to immigration that they can support your stay there. I think with the statutory declaration added with the capacity to support you is strong evidence that they have the funds to support you. You may ring immigration regarding that matter. AU$1000/month is enough for your expenses so for 3 months you need $3000.
So no need for a financial/bank statement from me, just the declaration from my aunts and uncles. Actually, I really dont have money, they will pay for me so I cant really show MY PERSONAL bank statement.
what were your vaccinations required by the board prior to your BP?
I see.. Then you have your employer already.. I came here alone because I'm not married yet (about to). You may include your family even in your 456 visa if you have the funds and the support then you'll not have any problems with that.. So that when you apply for the 457 they will also be automatically be in your application and also when you apply for the permanent residency (PR)... Your 457 should be applied onshore so that your application for PR will also be onshore you dont need to go home once your PR is granted.During my first day of the bridging course, I was quite anxious but we were not hands on yet so it was good to just observe and learn.. We didnt to any hands on during the first week not unless we were very confident to do it.
Is the bridging program hard?

your course provider will have a specific list for the vaccinations that they will require from you. In my case, MMR, Varicella, Hep A, Hep B booster, DTaP. The bridging course was quite difficult. You have tasks to accomplish, paper works, and you have to prove you are practicing SAFELY in the clinical placement.
Hi guys, I don't know if there's any truth to this bit of information but the agency/consultancy firm that I have once contemplated on signing-up with texted me this week that the CAS Program will end sometime this coming November 2009. They were just updating me, probably persuading me to sign up with them ASAP to start my application but they don't know that I already submitted mine last June. I'm still probably in their texting list or something. Anyway in the other thread, one poster also mentioned this. So, do you guys know anything about this?
Wow, it sure looks as if the July 2010 change will really be a major thing because as early as now each state's already making for their own changes... So I guess for those out there who's thinking of going through the CAS route, better make up your minds soon! No time to loose fellow nurses!
Good luck and God bless us all!

hi chocokat79. if this is true,it should have been posted in QNC website, in their latest news or anywhere in their homepage, but its not. i just checked the website..
good day, do you have an idea of the LEON program offered by ANSM? wherein it's only 3.5 months process. it takes only 1-2 months for nursing council approves your eligibility to take the program. then the program will only be 13weeks then after that you can be licensed and have a working permit. 2weeks in class then 1 week hospital then 1 week class and 5 weeks hospital=9weeks. if your CI or your preceptor doesn't satisfy with your performance you will be given 4 weeks more in the hospital so it will took you a total of 13weeks.
LEON program is more expensive than CAS program and you will be using student visa so you can work 20hours/week. You can apply even without IELTS yet but you have to provide it 2 months before the course start. You can apply now and leave by december. They said that the LEON program only takes 4 times a year so it has limited slots.
