Has anyone applied to the New Grad event scheduled for January 2016? I am not quite sure how this works but it is still opened. I do know if you are graduating in March 2016 you can apply. To those who applied this summer how long did it take to get an offer? I am taking my final courses for BSN in February. I was referred to by an employee but am not sure if it bears much weight. I was also told their pharmacology exam is not easy but you only get to do the exam if an offer was made. Looking for feedback from those who already attended this event. I understand they will be contacting people in early December.
Thanks

I suggest looking at this thread for the timeline, tips, and questions. It was for NYP's New Grad events for Summer 2015 graduates.

I have a question... they will only accept new grads with a BSN, right? I have an ADN now, but once I complete my RN-BSN, do you think it will be considered the same as a new grad?

LM NY, you will not be considered a new grad. You was a new grad when you finished the ADN. You can still app to NYP when you get a BSN however they will not consider you for any "New Grad" program but instead for a regular staff nurse job. A new grad is someone that graduated in the semester of application (Winter, Spring, Or Fall) and has no RN experience.
Gotcha!! Thanks estrella.

LM NY I am actually in the same boat as you i will be finishing my RN-BSN in december. I was thinking the same thing that they may not consider me for the position since i have been an RN already, but i decided to call HR. I explained the situation and the woman i spoke to just told me to apply. So i did. it was weird because she didn't say yes we will consider you or no, she just said apply. So i think you should do the same, the worst that can happen is that we do not get a call back.

I signed up for this! Does anyone know what goes on during this event? Is this just a chance to impress managers?
When researching past threads about this event, it seems like this event is to meet with HR administrative and if that goes well they will invite you to meet with managers.
heres an old thread. https://allnurses.com/new-york-nursing/nyp-new-grad-923250.html
The New Grad event is for anyone who will GRADUATE with their BSN by Winter/Spring semester 2016. Read the instructions carefully. I thought I did not qualify because am finishing my RN-BSN in Feb. it was brought to my attention by a nurse manager there.
Re reading the post. It says the event is open for those who graduate spring 2015, fall 2015, and winter 2016. Not spring 2016, I guess the event for the spring 2016 will be included in the next event. But spring graduates can finish their program in March or may. So idk. Just wait and see what happens. I may be wrong. I don't know anything about finishing a program in February, maybe that's considered a winter graduate, not sure. But if a manager. Says you're ok, then u should be.

Were you at the New Grad event on 1/20? If so, how did it go for you?

Hi guys,
I am slightly confused. The event called for ssummer 2015, fall 2015, and winter 2016. I graduate in May, therefore I did not apply. However, the comments above say it was open to the Spring 2016? Does anyone know if there will be another event for Spring 2016? Thanks so much for any input. Feeling anxious!! goodluck to everyone who has been going to interviews!
