Fall 2018 CSN Hopefuls?

U.S.A. Nevada

Hello Everyone! After much consideration I have decided to apply for CSN ADN and then I will do the RN-BSN program at NSC. It is more cost effective for me that way. I am in the summer Biol-189 course right now with hopes of getting into AP1 for Fall 2017. I am planning on taking Micro online with Marian University to get some more points in before the March 1, 2018 deadline. Then AP 2 in the Spring!

Is there anyone else out there working on Fall 2018 admission? Where are you in the process???

Have any of you heard about the cutoff points for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2017 cohorts? I wanted to apply for the part time, but considering CSN only accepts 16 people vs the 100+ for the full time, in addition to that I won't have everything done then full time it is for me.

Good of luck to you all! 😊

I had my advisement meeting, and she had said ppl had been getting in with high teens low 20s lately . So whil it may be a bigger course load, definitely worth it to apply!

You took micro online through Marian ? What does this mean ? Thanks

I'm retaking Bio 223 this upcoming spring semester so I can apply for spring 2019. I have all my prerequisites done, just need 223 and 224. I'm hoping I can get in the program with 28 points because I have no more classes to take at the moment. How many points are ya'll applying with for fall 2018?

Wow!

I attended the Henderson campus Health Program limited entry program orientation today. The adviser again mentioned the future (one to two years) BSN possibility. She thought I might have a good chance of getting the Statistics-->Math 120 waiver. The Henderson adviser seemed to have a good understanding of the programs, maybe I'll make an advising appointment with her.

At the risk of looking like a fool: I just reviewed my transfer credit report and it looks like I received credit for STAT 152 and the Math Department pages suggest it counts as "MATH 120 of higher." Of course, I'll check with an adviser to verify, but it looks like I don't need a sub/waiver AND I get the ten points.

You only need to take 223 to apply. I mean 224 is ten points but hey if you have everything else I would still try!

Dean, NICE!!! I've done the HPO before but obybapplication Time it will be just outside 2 years, so I'm doing both the HPO and LEO online , other than that, I retake my TEAS at csn in 1/23 and I am ready to apply! I just had my advisement meeting 2 days ago with the Henderson advisor and she said usually with a gpa in 3.0s and high 20s-30s basically just passing the TEAS is good enough.. fingers crossed! Congrats on getting the extra 10 for MAT120!

Hey Dean,

I'm wondering in regards to the possible BSN , since if we get in that would be around the time it starts, if they would give those students the opportunity to just continue with the BSN instead of having to reapply for a bridge .

That's another change I noticed for spring 2019 application cycle, we no longer get 10 points for math so now the total points are like30 something vs the 40 something available points from before :(

What! That's crazy so is mat120 a pre req to apply then? Or just no points? Actually I was reading through old threads the other day from like 2010 and apparently atthat time they were just changing it to where mat120 gave you 10 points../ wonder why they're changing it back.

I'm not sure? Here is the points sheet for Spring 2019.

Oh wait yes you are right! I see the change now. Yes the math is part of the prerequisites now! I have my math done already so that change didn't matter but I was depending on getting the extra 10 points for it! Ugh I need to hurry up and get these sciences done before they add more classes to apply LOL. These constant changes are so stressful.

The devil is in the details, isn't it? Hopefully there is a way to just continue or integrate the BSN material into the curriculum. Otherwise, I would just plan to do the RN->BSN or RN->MSN program through . I'm currently working my way through the MBA-Healthcare Management program and love it.
