Hello Everyone! After much consideration I have decided to apply for CSN ADN and then I will do the RN-BSN program at NSC. It is more cost effective for me that way. I am in the summer Biol-189 course right now with hopes of getting into AP1 for Fall 2017. I am planning on taking Micro online with Marian University to get some more points in before the March 1, 2018 deadline. Then AP 2 in the Spring!
Is there anyone else out there working on Fall 2018 admission? Where are you in the process???
Have any of you heard about the cutoff points for the Fall 2017 and Spring 2017 cohorts? I wanted to apply for the part time, but considering CSN only accepts 16 people vs the 100+ for the full time, in addition to that I won't have everything done then full time it is for me.
Good of luck to you all! 😊
I enrolled in Math 120 for Spring Semester '18 and it will be my final prerequisite. If I successfully complete it, I can apply for the Spring 2019 start. Today, though, I read about some CSN prospective students substituting statistics for Math 120. I took statistics many years ago and I'd prefer going the substitution route with the possibility of getting into the Fall 2018 start. Does anyone have experience with or knowledge of statistics substituting for Math 120? I'm planning to have an advisor meeting in a couple weeks, and I can always ask then.
Thank you for your guidance! I found the substitution form and can get that process started. Ironically, because of the timing I should take Math 120 anyhow, since it starts soon and getting the substitution waiver approved is a gamble. Being accepted into the Fall 2018 start is gamble as well, with 10 less points for not completing Math 120. Without Math 120...I'd have approximately 29-30 points.
How did micro online through marian go? I tried to take micro with Marian, but I'm a VA student and the Ava would t pay for micro through marian because of how it would transfer to csn... but I took my anatomy and physiology through Marian and got sub waivers. I took bio 189 and micro online through CCCONLINE it was great! I'm taking my TEAS ON 1/23 and I have my advisement meeting on 1/3. I can't wait! I have attempted to apply before but it just never worked out, but THIS is the time!! Lol I am done with everything and finally going to submit for the March selection cycle . Right now I have 35 points without my TEAS, so I'm pretty hopeful this cycle. I'm really hoping they decide o open up the part time program!!!! It'll be easier for me with 3 kids .
Hello!
That is awesome! How did you get sub waivers? I sent my information for Marian before I took the class and the transfer office at CSN told me it would be transferred as an elective, that was for AP & Micro? Also how was your experience at Marian for AP? I'm taking AP now for this Spring. If I can take AP2 over the summer that would be great! I'm just scared it won't transfer in from Marian!

Also I see that you took Micro and Biol 189 online with CCC online is there any particular reason you didn't take AP there as well? Thank you!
I took Anatomy and physiology at marian first... then I took 189 and micro at ccconline after I had completed the classes at marian. The reason I didn't take those at marian as well is because the transfer office told em they would t accept micro from marian. But a/p was easy as they could be I guess. I finished all with a B and C. For the sub waiver for A/P from marian... what I did was email the head of the biology dept. I sent him the syllabus from human anatomy and human physiology and he approved the course via email. He said he would accept them as transfers with a sub waiver. So then I had to complete both of the courses. I then transferred the grades. Then I printed my unofficial transcript with them as electives, printed both syllabi again, and attacked them to the subwaiver along with the email that he did approve them and it was no problem they were approved for a/p1/2 . I can tell you more about it if you want to PM me . Had I found ccconlie first I probably would have used them for all of the classes. I really like ccconline and I went via FrCc. The only plus to a marian over cccconline is Mariana classes are shorter and they have virtual labs. Plus ccconline is a little cheaper
Was anyone hoping to apply for part time? I noticed a few months ago it said part time was no longer offered, but now it has part time listed for the fall 2018 cycle .. I hope so!
This is good! It just seems like CSN has so many changes! I hear from students in the program and those that have graduated that there were so many ongoing changes within the program too! It was TEAS then Kaplan, then TEAS again. Then it was part time option, then no part time option, and now it's back again! I think until I actually apply I will just have to check on their website daily. Oh well hopefully all these changes are for the best!
