What is your situation? Are you working in the field? If you are, that alone will help you know what to expect. If you're not working now, or still in high school, I would suggest getting a job or volunteering at a hospital so you can see what nurses do.

Another thing I would suggest, not necessarily right now, but pretty soon after you get started with school is to get yourself an NCLEX review book, and start familiarizing yourself with the different question styles. Other than that, maybe see what your school has you working on for pre-reqs your first semester, buy the books and start reading them now, if that will ease some of your anxiety. I'm almost finished with NS, but my husband is starting in the fall, so these are all the things I'm suggesting to him... I hope it helps you!

Forget all about what you know... this is a brand new experience! make sure that you have enough time to get everything done, be on your toes LOL, time management is a must, and there is no time for drama!

some times you will get ticked off! but, shake it off and suck it up!!!

you wll be ok!

Flying vomit and poopy sheets. I don't really know, what you learn and when is program specific.

Hi,

I'm in my first year, level 2 at UofC

I was also nervous and it was my first time in university. I didn't know anyone and didn't know the campus very well. What a first level experience!!

Just keep up with readings and assignments.

don't put off assignments, try to work on them ASAP.

Remember it's a learning process and don't be too hard on yourself.

Once you begin clinical, the stuff you learn in the classroom is put into practice. That's when it starts making sense.

Good luck!!!

A classmate of mine was bent on getting As and high Bs. She completely exhausted herself.

she exhausted herself just to make a's or b's? i have to get a's to get into the actual nursing school!!
