NELRP is there a thread?

Published

Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?

When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.

Thank you for your encouragement!!! Trying not to lose hope!

Don't lose hope. It's coming. We are waiting with you.

I am about hysterical. I cant keep my mind focused on my work or on my schoolwork due to checking adn rechecking. Please Lord let there be a second signature tomorrow so I can end this psychotic behavior.:crying2::nailbiting:

I am so sorry u r still having to do this.. I really do think u will be getting it! We will just keep praying and waiting with u

Thank you Chro31 -- I should get out my no whine button! and have more Hope. My daughter watched Hunger Games recently. I remember the line: the only thing greater than fear is Hope. Very true!

Thank you, Janisleigh! Hopefully tomorrow I can post good news! Great to know everyone is supporting each other on this thread.

Got my first email a few days ago and now waiting for my second. Is having a PAW on my checklist a good thing?

Yes, that is the award worksheet that breaks down how much money they are giving you, the taxes held out, and the monthly payment. If/when you receive the final email you can open it up and view it.

Thanks for answering my question. Hope I get my 2nd signature soon!:)

I recieved my second signature on 9/10/12 and my email and intro 9/11/12. I am still in disbelief. I am so super excited. Wishing all of you the best of luck as well.

Congrats APRN2007!

I do have one question in regards to the continuation award. Regardless of what your remaining percentage is during that time of the 3rd year am I correct that as long as funds are available and you apply you are eligible for the extra 25%?

I ask because I plan on putting my same amount towards my loans and suffering a few more years in the hopes that by my 3rd year I can completely pay them off. Just curious.

I would also like to know more about the 3rd year . I am planning on doing the exact same thing as u.

From everything that I have read about the 3rd year, it looks like the 25% is based off of whatever the orginal amount of the loans were when you started the program. So it shouldnt matter how you pay them off as long as you can spend all the money they give you to pay on your loans that third year. If not you will have to give back whatever money you do not spend.
