  1. For those who are interested the Public Service Loan Forgivness instructions and documents are available on the following website. Public Service Loan Forgiveness | Federal Student Aid
  2. Yeah I agree, my DSH score was 18, no mental health score, also I am an NP and this is the first year that a specific percentage was allocated to us. What a blessing
  3. In the official welcome packet it tells you the contract dates and it states that you will be back paid so I suppose they will somehow work that out, but they just remind you to continue paying your loans until you receive your first payment and schedule recurrents for the end of the month.
  4. I have heard of people finding out up to the very last day. I had to apply twice before I got chosen. Some people more than that so just be hopeful and wait to see what happens.
  5. federal direct stafford loans sub and unsub (which all of mine are) federal direct plus and federal direct consolidation loans are eligible.FFEL programs need to consolidate before the 120 mths begins. Now I don't know what that last part stands for. I just know I have both of the first set.
  6. That sounds great only things to consider in regards to that is you must be employeed the entire 120 payments. Deferments and forbarances do not count in those months. I will have to calculate whether it would be worth it to go that route with the remainder as whatever interest I would accumulate up to those 10 years may be more than me just hunkering down and paying for it. Technically I have only been in repayment since 2010 plus a few months between undergrad and grad school that may shave off like 6 months...maybe a year, so it would be around 2020.
  7. I do have one question in regards to the continuation award. Regardless of what your remaining percentage is during that time of the 3rd year am I correct that as long as funds are available and you apply you are eligible for the extra 25%? I ask because I plan on putting my same amount towards my loans and suffering a few more years in the hopes that by my 3rd year I can completely pay them off. Just curious.
  8. I recieved my second signature on 9/10/12 and my email and intro 9/11/12. I am still in disbelief. I am so super excited. Wishing all of you the best of luck as well.
  9. NP, DC, D to I 140%, tier 1, score of 18, "O"
  10. Does anyone know the percentage of applicants who make it to the final stage that actually receive funding? They state in the email that it is not a guarantee of award.
