NELRP is there a thread?

Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?

When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.

This is a post from last years blog.........Just trying to help put some perspective about why it might be taking so long and we know that it went out in 3 waves (I think that is what I read), so it just makes sense that the RN's haven't heard yet. If NP's are being awarded first and nurse faculty then I'm guessing that they will be the first wave......so everyone keep hoping!!!!!!!

And there are only TWO teams - Blue and Gold. I will actually recommend pink with red polka-dots for next cycle! I kinda like it!

I am getting a better view of the 8/29 award letters and they may go out late (I can hear the groans from here). There really is a very complex, multi-step, multi-group effort involved in getting money out the door and accounted for properly. We have more rules than most companies (I just came here two years ago from the 'outside' world) and all steps must be taken and checked or we get into serious jeopardy for future funding. That plus ensuring ALL applications are reviewed and ranked BEFORE we can start awarding is another reason this seems to drag on. We cannot afford to make any awards out of ranking sequence and it would not be a fair practice. You will just have to believe me when I tell you we do not have much free time between February and September (and you would likely be surprised with how few of us there are).

Hang in there please. I am pushing as hard as possible (I already think I have more friends on this blog than at work, but I have always had the customer advocacy gene).

Here is to another week of praying and hoping! Hope this week we can hear some good news! Has anyone heard of aug 1st being a day that a lot of emails went out in the past? I have heard from a co-worker that this was the case in the past anyone have any insight on that?

I wish this guy would show up on the blog this year. It looks like he had to stop blogging so he wouldn't get in trouble at work though, so I don't think we'll see him.

A while back we were talking about the "roles" tab that some of us have (most likely from trying to login in the wrong place), and I noticed just now that it's gone. It was still there yesterday. I'm not sure what this means, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the website maintenance??

My roles tab is still there when i checked it tolday.

Hi all!

I've been following this thread for a while and just have not signed up. I am an RN with about 200% ratio but almost 90% sure I am ineligible for this year's funding due to the new HPSA scores (seeing as I cannot even find a score for my facility). I applied this year only because people at my facility have won awards in the past. I also started to form my application based on last year's info before the 2012 app came out and would've been Tier 1 according to that. I thought it couldn't hurt anything if I just went ahead and applied. $900 a month in student loans is killing me! Anywho, I have not heard anything on my app as I have expected. It went from "under review" to "submitted" a couple months ago, and there have been no credit checks or anything added to my app. Just thought I would given some RN input in regards to how things are going. About the roles thing...it definitely happens when you sign up under the wrong login. I did this a couple weeks ago and now it pops up every time I log in. Just wanted to give that tid bit before people get false hope because it did get me excited for a split second. I don't know why I continue to get excited over this, I guess just hoping that there is a score I don't know about? I feel like my facility should be eligible considering we need nurses and cannot hire because we are in such debt as a DSH ha, shouldn't that count?!

Congrats to those that have heard things!

Don't give up hope, DeanaB! There are others on this thread that don't have an HPSA score yet either, but I'm sure HRSA will do their best to get it before deeming you ineligible.

It's really weird that your application went from under review to submitted. Have you tried calling them to see why that might be?

I just found out that I was given wrong information at my job. For nurse faculty one of the criteria for tier 1 is that your school serves at least 50% disadvantaged students. My colleague and I were told to answer NO to that question. Now we found out, that the answer is yes. I would have been placed in a higher tier! I wonder if I can email it in. Probably have o wait until next year.

That's a bummer! I brought my forms to HR to be filled out and they had selected the wrong type of facility. Luckily, I had just gone through orientation and I had the contact info of a person who would be able to confirm that my facility is a non-profit DSH and I was able to bring in another form to be filled out.

OH No!!! That would have put you in a higher tier.....I would call but I don't know at this point if it would help, but I would try something????

It's worth a try.

Yes, I really wish someone from hrsa would join our blog.......but I'm sure that they put an end to that.....For the one's who have heard from the email....I found something else on last year's blog......I kind of feel like a "blog stalker"....lol:nurse:

Whoops....I thought I copied it and didn't......It basically said that the people that receive the emails are in the parameters to receive an award but it all depends on how much money they have whether you will be funded. I did try to match up names with emails on last years blog with actual letters but it was to much for me????? I'm just going to say that I'm going to think positive and everyone else needs to.....it's just a shot in the dark. I will continue to apply if I don't get it this year, and I'm really HOPING that I do but if not, I will continue to apply. I was going to PM the hrsa employee (rainbow) from last year but she's not on anymore.

I wonder if hrsa will verify that anyway.....they probably have your facility in a list????
