Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?
When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.
update for the RN's... found a conact for someone on the "inside" and received some good info! RN's should hear something very soon they were just very behind because of a new computer system and new steps they had to take to get people approved this year. Apparently i am in the final verification process even tough the rep i had previously spoken with told me i wasn't. Also, if your loans are still with Sallie Mae they don't contact Sallie Mae they verify thru a federal website. He was so nice and helpful! i feel a little bit better and hopeful

For the few that have received an email have you checked the electronic contract to see if the HHS rep has signed it??? I checked mine today and it appears there is an electronic signature present. It is on a second page that is blank except for my electronic signature and some one else's electronic signature. I have not received anything stating I have received an award. I like to think this is positive, but like I said I have not received anything that is definitive. I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I have read on past Nelrp blogs that there are applicants who signed a contract and anticipation to accept an award, but then did not receive an award.
From reading previous years' blogs, I gathered that those who received an email but did not get the award were due to things like child support issues, etc. Did you see anything that might indicate that there were some people who got the email but weren't awarded due to lack of funding?
The electronic signature sounds pretty promising, though! Getting closer to being official!!

Last year "very soon" ended up being several weeks! I hope it doesn't take that long! Is there any way you could share how you got to this "inside" person? You've got me intrigued!

Is it normal to still just be submitted and not under review? I was tier 1 until they changed stuff and now I can't find a score or anything. That worries me

Thats great news for us RN's I think. Im glad to know about Sallie Mae, because that is who I have my loans through and its made me nervous that there hasnt been any verification with them. Hopefully soon is within the next week or so, I'm so ready for the RN's to hear something!

I saw one post that said she received an intent to accept, but the funding ran out before it got to her. :-( After reading that I'm not going my hopes up.

That's good news!!! Mine only has my signature at this point. Are you looking at the first page when you sign in and then clicking on contract???? When I go into view submitted application, I can't go into individual documents....that has changed, I could look at them before????
My application has said "under review for completeness" forever. I am going to have to make a decision about changing to a non eligible job in the next month. I would happily stay put for the help with loans but if I am not that fortunate may want to take this new opportunity.
Oh Dear!?!?

That's an application status we haven't heard of yet. I wonder what it means? Just curious, are you an NP, faculty or RN?
