Is there already a thread for RNs waiting to hear about awards from the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program?
When I search, I can only find previous year's threads.
On the page where you find the HPSA scores:

It needs to say "YES" under primary care or mental health. Mine both say no, so that means that my facility does not qualify.
I was reading through the program guide today trying to get some idea of how they are going through everyone. The only information they give at all in that is this, "A funding preference will be given to applicants with the greatest financial need, defined as those qualified applicants whose debt to salary ration is 20% or greater. Applicants will then be grouped into funding preference tiers as described in the tables. Starting with the first tier, awards will be made in order of decreasing debt/salary ration until funds are expended."
My best guess is they have us all ranked and are going down the list and making sure that everyone is eligible. After they weed out those who arent eligible for whatever reason they start sending out emails notifying us that we are a possible recipient and ask us to verify some information and fill out the additional required forms. After this there will be some who do not respond for whatever reason and others who are no longer at the same facility they were at and will no longer be eligible. Next they will go on and start sending out letters (by the tiers) stating they received an award.
Just a guess. But thats what I got out of reading that information.

I understand now, mine are both yes thank goodness. Im sorry that yours are no.
So I've been reading this thread for quite some time trying to get a handle on what is happening with this whole application process and I really want to say thanks everyone for all of this amazing information. Like everyone else I feel like I can't even function waiting to hear from them. I got a certified letter the other day and was crazy disappointed that it wasn't about this. I feel like the stress from the anticipation of it is ridiculous. At this point, I like most have the credit check and the excluded list on my supporting documents, in addition to the "under review" about my application, but that's all. I'm starting to pace when the mail comes, which is not good considering I work nights and should be sleeping, lol.
I believe so. That is how they make sure your debt is in good standing.
What I meant to ask is, the two documents don't necessarily need to be posted on the application to indicate that you may be awarded. I understand that they run a credit check and such, but if an applicant doesn't have it posted to their account by this time, does it mean they won't qualify? My application is still under review but lacks the EPL and credit check.
Don't know if anyone knows the answer to this, but maybe one of you have asked this when calling the HRSA before. I'm in MD, btw. Wondering how they judge preferences by debt ratios. Is there an allotted number of awards per state, or is it just highest debt ratios? They don't really mention any limitation on the number of awards per state, but I would think they would have to make it fair so that everyone has a chance. Otherwise, RNs in lower paying states would get more of the awards since their ratios would be higher most often.

What do you mean there has to be a yes next to to either primary care or mental health?
