Hi all!!! Is anyone out there applying for the Nurse Education Loan Repayment for 2011..I came across the thread for 2010 but was just looking for some additional support...ahhhh!!!!!!!! Its so stressful!

To those who have received email replies, who did you email? Did you just reply to the email address that you received the banking info/contract stuff from?

I just received a phone call from HRSA that I clicked the wrong button and my fax had the wrong award information on it, that I needed to get it changed immediately and refax within the hour that she had made a note to hold my information awaiting the change. I hope that is good news. I accidently clicked NFP instead of NELRP-NF. My stomach is in knots and I cannot even work or think. This will be the longest month of my life!!!!

KeeKee- I, again, am so jealous!!! Uggghh!! So Suzy, at least our attention person congratulated you for your neat appliication package! Maybe (hopefully to God) our attention person just isn't telling us the good news via email; maybe they really aren't supposed to. Because all these years, nothing has been official until that award letter, right??? I am just thinking that maybe she is "Trying" to give us a good news little hint with the whole "please try not to worry thing"??!! UUUggghhh!! I am so jealous of these people who already know! And you guys even know how much it is you will be getting, huh??

I have a major question though to those who already know the good news....In relation to your funding, does the monthly amount you are getting cover all of your student loan monthly payment and then some?? Are you able to figure it out the percentage after taxes how much of your loan will be paid off.

Winnie - yeah I think that is most likely good news that you were contacted. If you just do everything correctly from now on, I would think that means you got it!! Yay!

I agree with Amy, I think the rep saying "try not to worry" is a big hint of the good news cuz my rep stated that its too many of us and too little of them to give updates and status checks but I think it depends on the rep, some of them feel our pain and stress and try to give us the little info they can without getting into trouble, at least thats what I think. A week more or so ladies! Im wondering though how some ppl know already the details of how much they will get paid out each month, wow- thats a very genorous rep :) Congrats!

I agree with both of you. I think we are all lucky to have made it this far and the reps are giving us what they can without getting into trouble or something. I am jealous of those who know the amount they will be getting, but I am not going to bother my attn person anymore. I will just wait for the mail man to show up and stalk him everyday...lol. Congrats to those who unofficially know they got it!!!

I agree anyone who has had contact with a rep is good to go in my opinion! My rep is going out of town so he said he had to get his work done early. I am not sure it covers all the loans because the amount that he told me would be deposited seemed lower to me. I dont know if it is taxes or we did not get awarded for all our loans. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!

P.s. This couldn't have come at a better time as I just found out I am pregnant with baby number # 3. I think that is why the rep took pity on us. We were freaking out about finances and he could tell!

Well Timnsara - congratulations times 2!!! I would be freaking out if I found out I was preggo with #3 as well!! Two is my limit (got my boy and my girl). So wow, congrats! I am very jealous though still that you got it. So seriously, the amount that will be deposited will not cover ALL OF YOUR LOANS??? THAT SCARES ME. I wonder what the deal is?! So in other words, you still have to come out of pocket monthly to pay your loans? That confuses me because how is HRSA supposed to pay off 60% of your loan in 2 years is that's the case?

Well everyone else seems to be focused on the fact that they actually got awards, but I just got my first glimmer of hope!

When you read all the ins and outs it states that payment is less that of federal taxes, so it will be considerably less than what our actual % is. We are also responsible for state and local taxes where applicable.
