Hi all!!! Is anyone out there applying for the Nurse Education Loan Repayment for 2011..I came across the thread for 2010 but was just looking for some additional support...ahhhh!!!!!!!! Its so stressful!

The references that you used when originally applying for a student loan. It is. So weird that they (Sallie Mae) are asking for information from them now. I don't get it. Anybody else???

OK guys, heads up...I have called HRSA today because, well, I am getting impatient and it's turning the corner to July so I decided "what the hell"! ...And so I talked to a pleasant young man who stated that he's heard of this blog that I had mentioned and that he's "pretty sure" nobody has been notified yet. And that he basically said he doesn't understand why everybody keeps talking about "this email" because according to his knowledge the only information that is given out is the award letter and HRSA will ask people for their banking information if you get awarded "when they're good and ready somehow". Just thought I should share this useless information for all those other impatient nurses out there!!

Ha ha they have heard about this blog! Now that is funny! Very interesting! Maybe they are not doing emails this year. Hmmmm

Sara- That is odd. None of my references have been contacted to my knowledge.

Amy- Hmmm....well I wouldn't listen to him. Or anybody from HRSA for that matter. If you note one of my past blogs, someone from HRSA told me they ALWAYS send the banking info verification email. I bet they all sit behind their desks, giggle, and say things like, "I just told one person emails are never sent, and then 5 minutes later told another everyone gets an email! BWAHAHAHA!"

I was wondering though, has everyone had their lenders contacted by HRSA for payoff amounts? Just trying to see if this is a positive sign or if they are checking everyone. And trying to get another conversation going to pass the time. Hope you all are doing well and good luck to everyone again! :)

They didn't do emails the year I received my award, either. The only notification I got was the award letter and I didn't receive that until September.

Wow thanks RainDreamer! This information is VERY helpful! So there was nothing, and then BAM! You were just notified you were an awardee? Guess I better be more attentive to my mailbox! Sometimes I only glace at the contents and don't even empty it. Drives my parents nuts when they come visit. LOL

Yep! We were told we'd be notified in October, but I got my award letter in September, much to my surprise. I never got a single thing via email from HRSA.

Has anyone noticed in 2009's blog ppl didn't starting being contacted for banking info until mid July? The emails with the initial contracts to sign didn't start rolling in until very late July. And the first actual contract to arrive via snail mailed wasn't until August 22nd? We may have a loooong wait on our hands people.

Wow! Yes, that is going to be a long wait! I am trying to not think about it and only check my email once a day but that isn't happenin.

Amy and Rain thanks for posting that valuable info. Ahhhhhhhhh now im afraid to go on vacation out of fear the letter might come and I miss some important send back this by this date.

Rain in your award letter did they ask you to mail back documents by a certain date?
