needs everybodys advice!

im sorry you dd not pass. keep your head up, iam attempting my third try. I too used kaplan both times and did not pass. however i think i was concentrating more on memorizing the questions instead of thinking through the most important or prority of the content. the nclex focus more on picking out the priority instead of the could be ones. i am now using the learningtext at ncsbn, so far i find that it is very helpful. try go back and review kaplan again but this time focus more on the rationales as to y some answers are right and some are wrong also focus on the content priorities. good luck

I am in the same boat!!! I am going to keep trying, and you do the same as well. You spent all that time in nursing school to become an RN not a PN. and if you want it bad enough you will. I tend to look at it this way if everyone is passing why cant I? Hence it is quite discouraging that everyone around you is passing it but you. But I am a strong believer that there is light at the end of the tunnel. I look at it this way it really does not matter how many times you take it because once you become an RN no one can take that away from you. In addition, it maybe wise to keep when your taking the test to yourself to lessen the anxiety. REMEMBER everyone knows that it is not an easy test!!!

I agree with you Lester...I took the exam twice now myself and failed. I am going for my third try. What keeps me going is knowing all the sleepless nites I had during nursing school and all that work during school, after all that, I am NOT giving up. However, I am waiting at this point due to too much going on in the family right now. I have lost two family members and now, one is in the hospital dying at age 43. I know that to truly concentrate on studying I need to deal with one thing at a time. Right now my loyalties lie with my family. When things settle down then I will go for it again. Its either 3 times a charm, or 3 strikes and I am out but still going back for more. It is hard to see everyone around you passing, and your left thinking why can't I??? Believe me been down that road. My best advice is: Keep your head up. Keep studying. Clear your plate, and your mind and focus. Don't give up..Soon we will all be posting I AM AN RN.... and this will all be a memory, and not one of your patients is going to ask you, How many times did you take the NCLEX?? Remember that...

Thank you all for giving me strength.. thats what i really need right now. Ill wait for 45 days and ill take the exam again for the 4th time.. Ill try learningext this time.

Do not delay treating the pt. If you dont know the answer pick the answer that can potentially kill the pt!!!!! (THINK SAFETY) Although I knew it it clicked when reading the entry. I am also attempting to use the Suzzane plan. Hey it cant hurt I have taken Kaplan twice and purchased the ncbns.org program twice as well. But what I found to be the problem was i was indated with information. Now I am using Saunders ONLY and Pharmacolgy memory notecards by Mosby.. I am also taking my time to understand why the answer I picked was wrong. I am really determined not to take this exam again.

I actually purchased the 3 week review from ncsbn website, i did the diagnostic exam which is i didnt do good! my husband told me to try kaplan again but i dont think im going to spend a lot of money again though i know its really a good one but money is a big deal esp i dont work. I still have my saunders with me and sometimes a just browsed it coz i really forget some infos that really important ( i dont do the questions anymore coz i almost memorize the Q's in the cd and in the book, remember i failed 3 times). Im actually curious about Davis and Springhouse, is Mosby have a difficult Qs? I think practice answering questions is the key though i did more than 4000 Qs already..

I actually thinking to take it again end of may.. and for sure ill take it in a different test center. Keep me posted! Thank you.

Hi to all! Im new here.. and i heard a lot of good things about allnurses thats why as soon as my friends told me to sign up.. went home and signed up.

I have a question.. everybody could give me a good advice on what to do. Ive already failed nclex-rn 3 times and im still on the stage of thinking what is the best thing to do after failing (esp its 3 times already).. I used saunders and kaplan. When i asked my 5 closest friends on what is the best thing to do after.. 4 of them told me to try taking nclex-pn, just 1 of them told me to study more harder and try it again after 45 days. Im so worried now coz ive been not working for 1 year already and i feel so ashamed to myself and to my husband coz i feel that im not smart enough to pass this exam.

What are the difference of the questions of nclex-rn and pn?

is learningext in ncsbn website is good?

I'm not sure if you should study for NCLEX-PN if you are going for the RN, unless you want to make quick money and gain experience. The focus is a bit different, and the delegation questions may confuse you. I had a friend that was an RN in her country, took it and passed here, and for some reason decided to take NCLEX-PN as well. She failed NCLEX-PN because her frame of mind was different. Especially if you get a pool of questions that doesn't fit the LPN mindset. If you have decided to take the PN exam in order to get work in nursing, that is one thing, but, as others have mentioned, you went to school to become an RN, and even if you pass the PN test, please continue to keep your mind set at the RN level. Once you begin to start working as an LPN, you may forget as you see people on all levels not use what they learned in school...and let's face it, most people don't.

Hi to you pagandeva2000! when my friends advised me to try nclex-pn im actually skeptical about it though i know that in their experiences they actually passed the nclex-pn after a week they knew they are failed in nclex-rn, thats a reason why i signed up here to know all of your opinions about this. Even i want to try nclex-pn im not sure if im going to pass maybe because of low esteem or i dont want to embarrassed myself coz my friends passed it.

Do you work while reviewing? Im sure im not alone on this kind of predicament. Im planning to take nclex-rn end of next month.. it depends on how my scores do, im hoping that learningext.com will help me on this. Im open to any review advice that you could give me.. Thank you.

No right now I am not working, so I try to allocate at least 5 hrs of studying each day. I have been out of school for almost a year now and I am attempting to take this for the 4th time and I refuse to fail it. But please do not get discourged we can do it!!!!!!

learning extension was fine,it also helps me. the answer choices on their practice question were very tricky just like in nclex. try to enroll on their course,its just 49 dollars for 3 weeks. use that 3 weeks before your exam and be sure to read saunders first and study as well kaplan strategies.best of luck.

Yup, I find the questions just fine though I havent finish it yet (purchased the 3 weeks rvw). In my opinion i think kaplan questions are more difficult. Im thinking what review Im going to take next after 3 weeks..

In my opinion the only program that I have seen that is comparable to NCLEX questions is KAPLAN. I have almost every NCLEX book and I have tried almost every program. But I believe my problem is understanding some of the content. When I take my time and review the content area and understand the info I am doing better. At this point that is the only thing I can do!!! Someone posted in an earlier thread that the saunders NCLEX book breaksdown the information better than most books and I would definitely have to agree... Thanks soooooooooo much for all of the helpful tips I really appreciate it. You guys are truly AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
