As nurses why do you guys think that medications only treat the symptoms of a disease instead of curing the disease? Is it because no one has come up any cures yet? (:rolleyes:) Or do you guys think it's a conspiracy?

I for one think it's a conspiracy and that's what I'm writing a paper on. Just wanted to know how you all felt. Thanks.

Side note: OMG just noticed I put "and" instead of "an" in my title. Disregard Please!

This is 2010, not the 1800's! You can NOT convince me otherwise that there is isn't a cure for at least diabetes. The gov't decides what has a cure and what doesn't, but OP, you keep researching. I doubt you'll find the answer you're looking for.

Exactly. The people with the money control the world. Tell me why we had a pt. w/ a stage 4 decubitis ulcer, paraplegic late 20's male and he is'nt getting the help he needs bc he has a limited health plan. Like seriously? No, seriously :eek:. He even went to the hospital and they did'nt even admit him. This is off topic but it just goes to show that insurance companies, pharm. companies all are big businesses! They don't care if you live or die. It's all a profit to them.

Yep-a vast right wing conspiracy. They have realized that diseases like cancer are nature's way of thinning the herd. They also know that treating the sick drives the economy. There is no money to be made in that magic pill. They have cures for everything-magic pills that are locked up tightly and available to only a few of the "in the know" people.

I really don't believe that- I have had almost all of a bottle of wine. Am off tomorrow-today is my "drinking day"

Wow, ok. So all of these advances in medicine and no one has found a cure for AIDS, Diabetes, or HTN? Seriously? I'm assuming all of you here are pretty smart but drug companies rather just keep selling you pills that does'nt fix ANYTHING than to have a world of healthy people walking around. It'll cut into their pockets. Think about it people.

And darn it all, no one's cured death yet either.

Well, Ladies & Gents thank you all for your contribution to the thread. All thoughts and opinions will be taken into consideration when writing my paper.

SIDE NOTE: When I used to do private duty I had a pt w/ MS who was allergic to almost everything. Instead of taking meds she went to a dr who practiced NAET which is a natural cure to allergies. It's very interesting. You nurses should look it up.

I'm familiar with NAET, thanks.

I was told that even after getting NAET treatments, they would not recommend I challenge my anaphylactic nut allergy. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

But if you seriously think about it. When has the US Gov't really tried to do ANYTHING for ANYBODY that was honestly good? Everything that they do is to fatten their pockets

I'm no fan of the government, so don't mistake me for a government fanboi. Despite my displeasure with the government (both before Obama and currently) I don't think the corruption is 100%. Even if it were, they're human. They'd eventually make a mistake that would benefit the masses. :)/enddisclaimer
