hello everyone ,

I have been accepted in the fall '02 nursing program at my school. Right now I am taking Anatomy and Physiology and it is so hard. I am a single mom with two daughters and also going through a painful breakup with my b/f of two years. All this emotional weight has really put a burden on my studies and clouded my vision of the future especially where my nursing career is concerned. Can you all please keep me in your prayers that I can at least get the minimum passing grade of C in my A&P class and that I can get over this jerk too. I appreciate everyones support.

wheezy, welcome to the board! i can too well empathize and sympathize with you, but it was my husband.

take all that negative energy and use it to pass your class. you know, when one is upset and want to lash out at something...lash out at the a&p class and get more than a c.

you have come to far to turn around. i will keep you in my prayers and let us know how you are doing. this bb is a great place to come or you can e-mail me.

congratulations on getting accepted. i too will start ths fall.

Keep your priorities straight & look at the "big picture." You are so blessed -- you have two great kids. You are a positive role model for them -- you are living proof that you value education. You are setting an example by doing. You called you ex boyfriend a jerk -- ok -- now let it go -- let him go. Focus on yourself, your kiddos, and your schooling. Prioritize. Single parenting and nursing school are both demanding. Don't waste your energy -- focus on the positive and on what is best for you and your girls. You will get through nursing school. You will be a nurse. In the meantime, enjoy some "free" time with your girls -- enjoy some lemonade, and some good old-fashioned summer fun. How old are your girls? Blow some bubbles. In other words, enjoy your life. Your cup runneth over ... you just don't realize it yet.

God bless. My thoughts and prayers to you.

You are definitely in my prayers! I am a mom of 3, returning to school. Although I am married, I know how hard it is to handle all that goes along with school and family. But look at the big picture, think how proud your kids will be of you when you graduate, and show them that YOU CAN DO IT!!! You have to get rid of the negative and focus on that. Good Luck!

I'll be glad to keep you in my prayers little Sister! You may want to put a little more faith in yourself (and can I say the Lord?), and shoot for at least a "B". I know A&P is tough, because I've already came through I and II. I'll admit, this was my toughest courses so far. I compare everything else to this course, and this helps me remember from where I've came. I start ADN schooling in the fall of 2002 also, and I'm looking forward to it. I realize that being a single mother takes a lot of your time, but try and keep up with your studies. It will be worth it in a few short years, and your lifestyle and that of your children will greatly benefit from all your hard work and struggles. As for the "guy" thing, don't let that dude bring you down! You've got too much going on right now to let those issues cloud your mind. I'm sure your children are your main priority, and they should be. You said you've only got about four weeks to go, is that right? If so, are you keeping your head above water at this point? You already know that you don't want to take this course again (I don't!), so PLEASE try and stay focused on your studies. I know this is easy for me to say, because my heart is not broke right now. It's very hard to do school work, when your emotions are in trouble. If I can help you to get through this course, feel free to get in touch. I'm currently tutoring a lady in A&P, so I may be up to speed with your course schedule. I feel like the Lord reveals people to me sometimes, and I ask Him to as part of my daily prayers. Maybe just this encouraging word is what my mission was for this evening, I don't know. Let us know if we can be of help. As for that guy, leave him alone for now. If you don't pay him much attention, he'll come to you. Trust me, I know, for I'm a guy myself:D Also, if that dude don't want to act right, let him go away. I don't know of many men who wouldn't like to have a woman who is a nurse:rolleyes: . You're going to make it girl, I really believe that. Please let us help you if we can. PEACE. Darby

Wheezy, Hang in there girl! First and foremost stick to your guns! You are a special person. Just having the guts to enter the nursing profession proves that. That jerk is not worth your precious time. And don't worry. everyone in my nursing 1 class hated a&p, but we all got thru it. So if you ever want to talk, let me know. Warrior Woman

Wheezy I have full faith in you and that you can do this. I say all this because I have been in your shoes. I am a 22 year old single mother to a four year old daughter. I had her just a few weeks shy of my 18th birthday. I started college full-time back in 98. I left my abusive EX-fiance/daughter's father. It was a very painful breakup. I was EXTREMELY depressed for quite a while. Every time I thought about how hard it was and how impossible it seemed I took a look into my precious little angel's eyes and realized that I am going to make the best life possible for me and her. I kept thinking positive thoughts about how one day I will be a nurse and I will be able to provide for me and her. I kept thinking how one day we won't have to depend on anyone and how my daughter will have a wonderful role model (Me).

Every morning say something positive when you get up and every night before you get to bed say something positive. This may sound weird but I tell you it works. Buy some poster board and write positive sayings all over the board. I will give you a few websites to help you out. Post them where you will see them several times a day. It is a wonderful way to build up motivation and it has HELPED me a GREAT deal.

If you want to e-mail me feel free. I am entering my senior year of nursing school in August. It has been a struggle but the struggle has been worth it so far. The feeling of knowing I am almost done and soon I will be able to provide for my child and help others is a wonderful feeling to have. My e-mail address is peaceful2100@aol.com
