Need to pass HESI to graduate...any suggestions?

Nursing Students Student Assist

Published

Hey everyone! My school requires that nursing students pass the HESI in order to graduate. Needless to say, many of us are in a panic. Although I have approx. a year before I take it (and the NCLEX), I realize how time seems to be flying by in nursing school and I want to be prepared. This coming year classes are going to be tougher and more time consuming. I do not want all those crazy, stressful tests to sneak up on me because, as we all know, things seem to have a way of doing that. Any suggestions for helpful HESI books or techniques that may help me to pass.....better yet GRADUATE?!?! ;)

Thanks!

Did anyone take the HURST review before the hesi exit exam? If so,

was it helpful?

You are blessed! So many of us, this exam means the difference between graduating and sitting for boards or not-it's so unfair :o

My school requires us to take a HESI after each course in that specific area of nursing AND an Exit HESI before we graduate! On the course HESIs, we have to get a 900 to pass, and if you get below, you have to do remediation work. On the Exit HESI, they won't let you graduate until you pass it.

Same here, only diff is that we don't have to take one after each course. They just started implementing HESI last semester and it affected us. We too must pass or do remediation work. If you don't pass the third time-you get a degree in healthcare support (whatever that is). :uhoh3:

Yes, Yes, Yes I agree the second guessing is what makes a difference.

Go with your gut- there was a lot of common sense stuff, sometimes you have to stop looking so hard for a more medically correct looking answer and go with your 1st feeling.

I am one that gets the easy ones wrong sometimes, but NOT anymore.

To pass HESI I reviewed content 1st and did questions on the topic right after. I opened the med -surg book if I didn't know and I learned more than just the rationales.
