has anyone interviewed at northeastern for the direct-entry program? i have an interview this saturday and i don't know what to expect- any advice?
i got into regis and should hear from umass in a few weeks. i also applied to simmons. my biggest concern (besides getting in) are the student loans i'll have to face when i graduate. if anyone has been through one of these programs, is there anything you can tell me about the strength of the programs in comparison to their cost!?
thanks!:paw:
Hmmm it probably wouldn't hurt to call them tomorrow and ask. But they probably have to wait to see how many of the people they have sent acceptance letters to will give a deposit before they admit/interview any others. This is just what makes sense to me but I have no idea! Let me know if you hear anything else and best of luck to you!
I also have yet to hear from NEU, but I didn't submit my application until the week before it was due... and I had to call because all of my documents did not show up as "received" until two days before the deadline, which is funny because I took the GREs in September. When I called to check on them (I was freaking out!) they had not scanned them into their system yet, but it did update later that afternoon. But since it was so close to the deadline, I'm not really that hopeful. I thought I would have heard something by now, but nada. If any of you waiting to hear find out any info, let me know! I'm just curious more than anything.
But I am sending in my deposit to MGH this afternoon!
Hey! I'm glad I'm not the only one confused by NEU. I had an interview in late Feb and have nothing since expect reading this and hearing of others getting in. It's too bad they aren't more clear about their processes. Makes the process worse than it needs to be for their prospective students. Makes me wonder about the program as well in terms of their responsiveness to student issues/concerns.
I sent my deposit into MGH.
I think a lot of the schools aren't as responsive as we'd like them to be though because they are busy with lots of applications! Simmons, for example, still has not even sent an e-mail confirming they have received and processed my application. Has anyone received any sort of notice from them? They were supposed to send an e-mail when they have received and processed your app, and it's been over a month....
They should realize people are moving quickly in sending deposits and choosing other schools. It drives me nuts although there isn't really anything we can do but wait. At least some of you know you are in somewhere...I am still on wait list at MGH and waiting from others...ughh
Hi!
I'm new to all this. Attempting to change careers from dietetics into NP. I'm really excited about making a change but the process has been something else! It just seems like it could be made much easier for all involved if it was
standardized in some way across programs. The prerequisites aren't the same for every program which leads me or us as a perspective student(s) to need pathophysiology for one program but not for any others, general chem for most programs but another program wants chem with some organic and biochem. It's frustrating and expensive. I graduated from undergrad in 98' so more than 10 years ago which means I have to retake a lot of classes and extra classes to meet all these various requirements.
Why not have standard requirments for the programs of this type, standardized application, notification processes, and requirements for clinical learning settings/objectives. We all need to learn the same things and pass the same standard RN and NP exams right?
I'd think too these programs like NEU and others they get the same questions year and year regarding their processes in terms of admissions and the process of being on a wait list. So, why not inform students from the get go? I'd time it'd make things easier on us as prospective students and reduce the volume of questions they receive.
I didn't apply to Simmons so not sure on that program.
Good luck to everyone! I hope things work out and people get into where they want to be in the end!
