has anyone interviewed at northeastern for the direct-entry program? i have an interview this saturday and i don't know what to expect- any advice?
i got into regis and should hear from umass in a few weeks. i also applied to simmons. my biggest concern (besides getting in) are the student loans i'll have to face when i graduate. if anyone has been through one of these programs, is there anything you can tell me about the strength of the programs in comparison to their cost!?
thanks!:paw:

NU has a fabulous nursing program and an excellent reputation. Their coop program has helped the majority of their new graduates obtain jobs in the area. NU is an expensive program compared to others, but I think it is worth that. Simmons is also another awesome school. I am an alumnae of there and have nothing but good things to say. They have a good reputation with all the Boston hospitals and a very high NCLEX passing rate. PM me if you would like more info about it! Well worth the money. Any nursing program in this area is going to be expensive.
For your interview, be very professional and practice answering questions beforehand in front of the mirror. Why you want to switch careers, why NU, what makes you stand out from the rest, etc. Practice makes perfect. Good luck!

Nahbois,
When did you hear about your interview and turn in your application?
I had all of my paperwork in just before the deadline, and haven't heard a peep from NE as of yet..
ac123- Thanks! Yea, everyone keeps telling me that Northeastern has a great program, and Simmons just formed an agreement with my school (I'm a senior in college) with benefits for applicants who meet certain criteria. The high NCLEX pass rate and the location of both Northeastern and Simmons are huge selling points for me- I'm sure I would save $$$ going to UMass but I'm not so sure I want to move to Worcester. I will definitely try practicing in front of the mirror- Thanks for all of your help!
Fionagurl- I only just got a call, no worries :nuke:

Heyy I have kind of a weird question... do you have caller-ID? If so when Northeastern called did the caller ID say "Go Huskies"? I am away at school and my parents did not pick up a call with that caller ID because my dad also went to Northeastern (different program) and he automatically assumed they were calling him for money or something. They didn't leave a message and I'm anxious to find out!!
Jennifer- they left a message on my cellphone. It didn't say "Go Huskies" but the number was 6178776784. I hope you hear from them soon!
GOOD LUCK TODAY!! Let us know how it goes =)
Thanks Jennifer! It went really well, have you heard yet? I think they interview all applicants so I wouldn't be worried about it. I can't wait to be done with this whole process and know where I'll be next year!
I'm glad to hear that you think it went well. I talked to Janet--the direct entry coordinator--and she said they're doing another round of interviews the 20th-21st, so if I'm in that bunch I probably won't hear till either sometime this week or the beginning of next week.
I totally agree with the whole process thing! It's all very exciting, but I just want to know already!!

Hi Everyone,
I'm just wondering if anyone has received any information about the second batch of interviews for Northeastern. I got into Columbia and I need to submit my decision in March, but Northeastern's my first choice... however, I don't want to bail on Columbia for Northeastern if I'm not going to get in! Ah! Anyway, if anyone could shed some light on whether they've been offered interviews already, I'd really appreciate it! Good luck to everyone making decisions!
They are supposed to be this week/weekend. However, yesterday was a holiday, so maybe give them today or tomorrow to see about interviews and if they don't call you (I haven't gotten a call yet either) then you can call them. The woman I talked to was really nice! I'll cross my fingers for both of us that we get calls! And I'll keep you updated if I hear!
