Hi!!
I need help ASAP. I have been admitted to a couple of nursing programs, haven't decided which one to go to yet. But as of now, I need any statistics class and organic/biochemistry, or something equivalent. I need it to be distance learning (online, correspondence, etc.), and it has to be self paced so I can complete it ASAP. I live in Michigan, but that shouldn't matter with distance learning courses. I don't care what school it's at.
Here are the ones I already know of:
University of New England Online: Medical Biochemistry $1200
University of California Berkeley Extension Campus: Biochemistry, Statistics $800 ea.
Cal Campus: Organic Chemistry $645
Weber State University $900+ Organic and Biochem
I am looking for something cheaper than these. Anyone that can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!!

I am not sure of these but have you tried schools like Phoenix or Strayer, those are the only 2 I know of. Good luck!

Most organic chem and biochem classes have a lab component... Are you sure you can complete these courses online only? If so, check with your nursing school to make sure they will accept these courses if taken online. Good luck :)
That is a really good point, a lot of schools require that lab part.
Thanks, guys. Forgot to add that -- all three of my schools are private, and none of them are particular about the lab. That's why I even knew about taking Chem online. I didn't know it was possible before, and the schools I'm accepted to suggested the ones I listed, but they're just a little beyone my budget right now. Worst case scenario, I'll just chose the cheapest of the three.
Thanks!

I don't know about all schools but at all of our local schools, if you take a course, you are REQUIRED to also take AND pass the lab part of it. So, regardless of whether or not your school is interested in the lab, the school offering the course might be.

western governor's university offers biochemistry completely online. there is a lab component, however you complete the experiments on your own in your home. you order a lab pack through the school and they send you the materials. i am enrolled for it this semester but haven't started it yet so i can't tell you complete details. and i am also not sure if you have to be a degree seeking student to take it. also not sure about the price because i am enrolled in a full semester of courses. but its worth checking out.
According to the website, its between $3200 and $4200 plus fees. It says you pay full tuition no matter how many or how few hours you enroll.

I'm doing Weber's Gen Chem right now and will be taking Bio-chem next semester. It's relatively easy (it is Chem) and it does have a lab component that is accepted by most programs that require a lab. It is a bit pricey, but you can make payments.

I attend Columbia College in Sonora, CA it is a 2 year junior college. We offer Chemistry online at 26.00 a credit. The class is 4 credits I believe and it is transferable. It qualifies for the Nursing program. Check into it at gocolumbia.edu
Good luck,

Parkland Community College in Champaign, Illinois offers these classes online. I know the organic/bio chem class is set up really well. The lab component is done at home.

I do have a caution about stats online. If you aren't strong in math, DON'T DO IT!! I suck at math and I used 2 of my three chances doing it online. The last try was an on-campus class and it went so much smoother.
