Well there's always the vitamin C graduation song!! I am sure that you've heard it at one high school graduation or another.

Just kidding about using it though.

That song called 100 years (I think by lifehouse) is a nice "backround" reflective type song. Don't put too much thought into the PERFECT song, because it should really be quiet type music for backround so people are paying attention to the pictures, not the words of the song! Good luck :)

I think the song "I believe" by Fantasia, would be a good one.:)

I can't remember who sings it, but we had "I hope you dance" I really don't care for country music but this was fitting.

Hhehe I am kind of found of "the Time Warp" from the Rocky Horror Picture show, but I don't think it's going to happen. One I really like for graduation is "Let it Be" by the beatles. Here is a cheesy karaoke website that has the words and a midi version of the song but I am sure if you really want to hear it you can download it elsewhere...

Or the one I see alot is "Imagine" by John lenon...

"Do You Know Where (You're Going To?)", the Theme From "Mahogany" was played and sung at our Nursing School Graduation. A very beautiful and moving song. Here are the lyrics and a link to a midi file, if you're interested.

The Theme from Mahogany (Do You Know Where You're Going To)

Diana Ross

(M. Masser/G. Goffin)

Do you know where you're going to?

Do you like the things that life is showing you

Where are you going to?

Do you know?

Do you get

What you're hoping for

When you look behind you

There's no open door

What are you hoping for?

Do you know?

Once we were standing still in time

Chasing the fantasies

That filled our minds

You knew how I loved you

But my spirit was free

Laughin' at the questions

That you once asked of me

Do you know where you're going to?

Do you like the things that life is showing you

Where are you going to?

Do you know?

Now looking back at all we've planned

We let so many dreams

Just slip through our hands

Why must we wait so long

Before we'll see

How sad the answers

To those questions can be

Do you know where you're going to?

Do you like the things that life is showing you

Where are you going to?

Do you know?

Do you get

What you're hoping for

When you look behind you

There's no open door

What are you hoping for?

Do you know?

I agree that for photos the soft music (no singing) is nice. Enya always works well...As does some of Joe Satriani's more mellow stuff ("You Saved My Life" is my personal favorite..you can listen to it here: http://www.satriani.com/2004/discography/Strange_Beautiful_Music/#listening_party )

As far as songs with words, I like "Unwritten" by Natashia Bedingfield. I heard it on my daughters "Ice Princess" soundtrack, of ALL places:chuckle , and it always makes me feel good about my upcoming graduation when I hear it. On line in particular, "....today is where your book begins, the rest is still unwritten".

Happy song hunting!

Hey I like the Vitamin C Graduation Song or Baz Luhrman's "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen). I like the Beatles "Yesterday" or Boyz II Men's "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday".

And I agree with Leesie about using Enya for background reflection music. I also like Yanni as well.

How about Guns and Roses' "Welcome To The Jungle"?

How about I Will Survive, I think it is by Gloria Gaynor or Donna Summer, it is a disco song. Who needs tears, get your party on.
