Please feel free to post here the date when your I-140 petitions were filed and are handled by this Service Center.

Hopefully, this thread would serve as a tracker or updater on how long I-140 petitions are being approved by this Service Center.

Congrats to both of you. So what's the next step that you have to do?

If they are doing it via consular processing they are now officially part of retrogression. If they did it via AOS, they are also caught up in retrogression but they have the EAD that permits them to work temporarily while they wait for their AOS and for retrogression to be lifted.

Hi,Suzanne nad Lawrence!

My lawyer just sent another additional information to Nebraska center,I was waiting for 8 months (July 25,2006 )for I140 approval,but my attorney did mistake and now they want more information from him. So, how long do you think i'm going to wait more? I'm so sad.

It won't take another 8 mos. if your lawyer will promptly send the lacking information/documents.

Make sure you follow-up on your lawyer if he had sent it already.

is there a way to cancel the i-140 if they have submitted it already? and start with a new i-140 with another employer?

the lawyer just cancels one file and refiles but i think you have to wait a short peroid of time before you can refile

Of course, not mention if your original employer will agree to cancel it as there was a contract that was signed between you and them and usually there is a cancellation fee for that.

You can refile immediately, but the issue is the cancellation fee from the first employer. There is sure to be one for the costs that they have incurred, plus they will more than likely add on a fee to it. The lawyer's fees will be included as well, and can be several thousand dollars not including the fee for the I-140 filing, etc. Definitely money involved. And not a little sum for most.

hi my pd is 9-26-06 , but until now no approval yet on my i-140.
