2nd attempt on Tuesday

Published

I'm so nervous. I'm constantly lurking in this site to be motivated but I still don't feel ready for the exam.

I failed 265 before, 1 above the passing standard and everything else near the passing standard. I hope I pass this time.

They said its harder the second time around because the questions will be a lot harder. Is this true?

I need words of encouragement guys. Please help.

Its not true at all. First time I failed 95. The second time 265 (2 above passing level and everything else near). The questions on the second time wasn't harder. My Kaplans teacher told me that when I get 250, I need to take a break. Cause last 15 questions are very important. You need to answer then "above" passing level. So good luck to you.

NOT TRUE and dont believe anyone who says this!! just take your time. click on the clock so you dont see it ticking coz it was very distracting..at least for me. think through each question and eliminate. dont breeze through the questions. when i was absolutely clueless about the answer, i took bathroom breaks, kinda walked around (as permitted by your testing center) to refresh/regroup myself. you can do this : )

Girl don't worry, I took my repeat this morning! GOT THE GOOD POP UP!!!! You'll be ok. Pray to GOD! I swear he was right there with me! Stopped at 110. I'm finally an RN! :))

I am going to be taking the board's soon. Does anyone have any good advice about how to study. I feel so unprepared and im so nervous.

Thank you so much. I was geared up on taking the exam until someone told me this and I got nervous.

Okay I will do that, yeah I found myself constantly looking at the clock and the question numbers on my first attempt. I'll turn it off this time around. Thank you so much for the advice. :)

Awww congratulations for passing! ;) God is good all the time. :) it's very uplifting knowing that other people's success. It seem impossible until it is done. I know that He will be with me too. :) I keep on telling myself the whole time I am reviewing this time around that I should not be afraid because God is with me.

There are a lot of advice here given by other takers feel free to browse. :) it's such a wonderful feeling knowing that other people are in this too. As I pass my nclex RN this Tuesday I will share my study plan and all the resources that I had. :)

Hi starleviosa!

I understand what you're going thru! Don't be nervous! if anything when you feel like you're sick of studying or tired of doing questions it really means you're ready!! That's how I felt this past last week up until test day. I tested just this past Wednesday and I couldn't RELAX!! I was nervous at the testing site not to mention seeing another person testing for the NCLEX studying his notes! Besides that, the only tip I can give you during the test is to take your precious time and take as long as you want! Don't worry about how many q's you get. I finished in 4 hours and my test stopped at 75 qs! I really thought I failed big time because my first time around I failed at 75. I was crying all the way home but I had hope and sure enough got the good POP UP! (But I'm still in shock and doubting that I passed even with the pop up....I won't believe it until I see it officially!) Oh another thing really know your infection control and understand what's standard precaution. I have notes that I found that really explains infection control step by step if you like. I think it really helped. GOOD LUCK!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

Aww, congratulations to you! :) in all honesty knowing other people pass the exam motivates me even more! thank you so much for the advice. It really helped build my confidence. I'm so grateful to everyone replying to my post. :) on the day of your exam and the night before your exam did you review some more? And yes please, i would be so thankful if you send me your notes at [email protected]

No problem I'll email them right to you. Trust me the infection control will save you on the test. I think I remember literally getting ALOT of infection control especially when to use gloves, gown, mask, and even goggles. Before the day of my exam, I just reviewed the PDA book and all the rationales. Although I did terrible on the PDA (scoring 40s, 50s, 60, and some 70s) I FOCUSED on the rationales. I really think scores don't matter it's quality not quantity that matters :) I also read the AN guide just to refresh what I've studied and labs and PSY medications (I highly recommend you looking at it quickly especially Clozaril in and out). On the day of the exam I didn't bother looking at anything because I didn't think it made much difference to retain anything else. You'll do great!!!! Prayers to you! Don't forget READ QUESTIONS carefully and slowly :)
