nclext cut off at 85

my friggin test cut off at 85. what are the odds of passing at that point? I'm sick to my stomach right now. My school has 100% pass rate. I'm sure I will be the first idiot to fail. Anywho, what are the odds of passing if it cuts off at 85?

Dont' get hung up on the number of questions.

No one knows the odds, however the majority of people who take NCLEX PN pass with 85 questions.

It's a dreadful test that most people don't feel good about. The number of questions is only the number of questions it took you to pass or fail.

Thanks.

The test cuts off at the point in which you were answering 50% of the questions correctly. I can't remember if you took the PN or RN (I think Tweety said the PN) but for first time, non-international test takers, your chances of passing the NCLEX on the first try is something around 86% - if I'm remembering correctly.

Under the student nursing section, there's a forum for the NCLEX. There's a "sticky" at the top which has a FAQ for the NCLEX. It might put your mind at ease.

Best of luck to you, and I hope you get great news soon!

Took the liberty of moving your thread to the NCLEX Forum, and you can see by the number of other threads that many have the same view as you.

As was mentioned above, the number of questions that you had means nothing in determining if you passed or did not; nor does it make a difference about the last question answered.

The exam is looking to see if you will be a safe nurse and what you would do in certain situations is what they are looking at. Nothing more that that.

Best of luck to you, and please let us know how you do.

And please take time for yourself right now, there is not a thing that you can do to speed up things either as far as getting your results.
