  1. hey out there just a little note i feel that i am not knowing everything there is to know it is my 4th week orientation(we work 12h shifts) only 3days a week. anyhoo, i had a bad day a couple of days ago and im thinking wow there is still so much to learn, i get scared. everyone says im doing great but i dont feel like it. i have my nursing insurance already b/c sometime im by myself i mean i still have a rn around but i do most of the care. i just feel hopeless that im not learning fast enough. i have been thrown to the wolves somedays but the facility is realy accomadating they are really trying to get me a fair shake its just were short nurses or they wont hire them or both. some days there will be 13 pts and one cna thats crazy so if i have 4pts i have to do everything for that patient. iknow some of you are like thats nothing but im not use to that. its not fair to us or the patients i dont know what the higher ups are thinking, or if there hands are tied. it would be nice if there was people fighting for more nurses and more money for what lpns/lvns do. if i had more help i would feel more comfortable doing my job and learning the right way.
  2. i recently got my license as a lvn and now am working at a local hospital, i am 37 with a 7yr old and a 2 1/2yr old, i have been a cna for 11yrs a medical assistant for 15yrs and a certified plebotomist I for 3yrs so the total i have been in the nursing career is 15 yrs, i have had 2 marriages and moved to cali from florida lost my dad 3 yrs ago and do not converse with most of my family i have a few close friends.i was pregnant with our second child when i started taking my prereqs,i remember standing up in class because i was so big with her i could not sit she was 1month early and i had to make up work, she was c-section just like my first, so then with the help and support of my husband, his family and my friends and collegues i managed to get through 2yrs of nursing school with the first semester with me failing but luckily i kept all my test and paperwork that i got a passing score the teach did not calculate my scores correctly and the rest of the semesters was just nerve racking i dont know how i got through it but i did and i graduated with a 3.2 grade average. then i took my nclex exam and failed it the first time i ran out of time at 96?s i was so messed up and things just did not go the way i planned all the way around i went with a peer of mine who drove me crazy and i found a letter from my daughter that said im mad at my mommy bc she ignores me. just awful. so i took it the second time 500$ later with a review class and hotel and gas to san diego and i passed with 85?s to make a long story short-it has taken me this long to get where i am and it was not easy i am going to take some time off and enjoy being a nurse. i plan to go on for my rn when i am ready so people get off our backs just because we are lvns some of us rather just stay that way this country needs good lvns just like it needs rns yes the money is better but we have to be happy with ourselves before we can move on money isnt everything when we are ready well let ya know proud to be a nurse wanda lvn
  3. i like your name i have a co-worker named kali i liked it so much i named my puppy that after her its a good think not bad. anyhoo i too failed the first time, i ran out of time i was so freaked out all the way around, so i took it a second time and passed . i suggest taking a review class that helpes you answer the questions correctly. it cost me around 500$ but it was worth it cause i passed at the minimum of 85?s. i also changed everything that i did the first time like i went by myself, i studied the night before i really didnt study i reviewed between shows on the tv and room service. i kinda spoiled myself too. u have too. what state are u from if your in cali the class was called lifesavers nursing review let me if u want more info. so good luck to u the feeling of being a lpn/lvn is awesome i was never going to give up i didnt care if it took me 10 times. good luck to you keep ur head up.
  4. hey u guys i know i havent gotten alot of response to my threads, but to those of u who did and the ones who viewed today i found out that i passed. i wasnt sure if i was going to or not this was my second time. so good luck to those who are starting this whole nursing thing it will be worth it in the long run no matter what.
  5. hey eric i only got one of each of those ?s so i would think i got them right/but who knows. if i got them wrong would i have gotten another? like it?
  6. me again just trying to pass the time waiting for my results whats one more day, 4weeks and one day to be exact. so i have had a lot of time to think anyway, on the nclex does anyone know if you only get one type of ? such has lab values or nutrition ? is that a good thing? i would think if u didnt get it right the first time they would try and see if u get another one like it right.? i dont know just pulling at strings my pn shut off at the minimum 85. any answers?
  7. hey mine shut off at 85 too. this is my 2nd time taking it. the first time i ran out of time at 94 in 4 1/2 hours yeah i know i was pretty stressed. so i went a took a review class for three days and i hope it helped. all my peers passed at 85. my goal was to pass at 85. i felt good when it stopped i felt like i answered most of them ok. but who knows i probably failed again. i was ok untill last week the 3rd week of waiting its been 4weeks and one day and still counting this sucks so bad. i hope u dont have to wait as long as i am. i wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy this is brutle anyway hope u pass and find out soon. good luck
  8. the rn nclex is much better then the pn nclex. i took mine the 6th of july and still no results tomorrow will be 4weeks. so three days is nothing. congrats to all and hope we all pass.
  9. does anyone know if you can go online and look up lvn results on bvnpt. i tried but it said no records returned. i heard that they wont give u a license untill you send in your fee for the license but can u see if u passed or not? anyone? still waiting 3weeks/four days and counting.:uhoh21:
  10. ive been reading this particular thread and alot of u took the nclexrn well i took my nclex pn the second time around and both times i am waiting over 3weeks. to here u guys complain over 48-72 hours kills me i wish i only had to wait 3 days for my results. i know for all of us no matter how long u wait it still sucks waiting. good luck to all of us waiting no matter how long we wait, but more power to who is waiting over 3weeks already.:trout:
  11. i also have mixed feelings how i did. i felt that i knew alot and didnt know alot i took the pn 2nd time and shut off at 85 that was my goal to pass. i just have to remember to trust that i passed last time i didnt but on the other hand if sike myself up that i passed and find out i failed i will be so devestated. but i do understand that i have to be positive and so should u think we passed we passed WE PASSED !!!!!! GEEZZZZ OH MIGHTY!!!!! :uhoh21:
  12. hey to all so here i wait friday will be 3 weeks took my pn 2nd time around stopped at 85 my first attempt i timed out at 94 and failed i went to a siminar in san diego and i felt ok about it so i applied some of it when i took the test. i was relieved when it shut off thinking maybe i passed because all my peers passed at 85. and i felt ok about it but the more i thought about it the more i doubted myself. anyway the first time i was near passing and above. does anyone think if i was so close last time that i would totally bomb it this time? but i didn take my time last time but i failed, this time i did 85? in 2 hours any thoughts? good luck to all of us awaiting results and congrats to all of you who passed and congrats to the grads also.
  13. cograts i feel the same way you did. hope i have the same great news. good luck to u and your family u make us proud.
  14. hey i have a ? when it comes to the level of ?s if you get lets say a ? on the type of diet to give and you dont get another diet ? does that mean u got it right? im just saying if u dont get the same type of ? not format but type of ?'s is that good or ? thx wa
  15. hey lilah good luck to u. i took the nclexpn the second time on july 6 my 11 yr anniversary 14 all together. i have two children my self i stared late my first was at 30 the other at 35 two girls 2 and 6. so i know the feeling of doing all this for my family my husband was a huge support along with family i dont if could have done it w/o them. but to let u know i also work at a hospital as a ma/cpt-1 aka phlebotomist you have to be licensed in that to in ca. anyhoo i also worked at several parts of the hospital as a clerk do u know how hard it was going back there and having to work, but guess what i did and i got over it, it seems like the end of the world but its not u just get right back up and try again. i dont care if it takes me 50 times in ca u can take it as many times as u need to. i timed out the first time at 94? i was sooo nervous and tweeked out all around they said if i kept going i would of passed so i kind of see it as not failing but timing out. so i went to this seminar in san diego and it helped alot they teach u how to answer the ?s so it was kinda neet some spirital things and goals they wanted u to have so my goal was to pass and 85 the min for lvn so i took second time around it stopped at 85 plus they gave u a card to put your test date on and it says i will pass my state boards on such and such date so funny b/c my first time i wrote it ten times on my own on a piece of paper and a nurse friend of mine saw it i said i even wrote it ten times and she said yeah but u didnt date it. weird. i hope u pass seems we want the same things for ourselves and our family take care let me know how it goes and ill do the same . :trout:
