NCLEX studying giving me the blues only 6 days left to practice

Published

:uhoh3: The NCLEX studying is giving me the blues....I only have 6 six days left to study/prepare. I have the Kaplan book, the Saunders book and the Nursing/Pharm made incredibly easy book (supplied during the Sylvia Ray Hurst review)...Sigh....with all that I am getting more discouraged as the day grows closer. ... This worries me....I always look at someone else's failure as mine. What should I be practicing within these last 6 days? I am trying to stay positive  ... Oh! I also have been taking the Hurst review test on the online version, the first test I scored 77 and the second one I scored 89. Where can I find some good SATA questions asap? Thanks! Please give feedback

Tameka,

This is my personal experience and everyone is different. During my last week, I slowed down tremendously. Cramming is confusing and will burn u out stat. I stopped doing Kaplan questions

and just skimmed over common meds, infection precautions, lab values. There is an awesome 35 page

study guide on this site somewhere.Check it out. The day before, just breathe. Dont do anything stressful.

As far as SATA, answer each one as a true/false. I did not feel ready to take my exam but I dont

think anyone feels ready enough. I know that waiting can make things more difficult because you may

forget something you learned while in school.

Good luck and with each question, read it slowly and carefully.

Caffeine

I agree with caffeine. 3 days before my exam, I stop answer questions from 100-200 instead just did 10question and read the rationales. Plus when over the 35pages study guide and when to scribd.com

scribd.com --> seach engine TYPE "nclex" there are tons of good study guids and tips about nclex. Try check it out.

Thanks everyone! Saturday is my day....praying....

You can do it! Let us know how things go! Are you in a state where you can get results after 48 hours?

Yes I am. I did the trick...got good popup just waiting on tomorrow to see for sure!

I agree with the previous person that stated the one never feels ready. The book aI would have definitely added was on your list is Prioritization and Delegation by LaCharity, lots of questions on these. Also infection control. The math questions; if you get any, are easy. Start by elimating answers and do not go back to them once they are off, if you are not sure of one, leave it for consideration - Kaplan is right on this. TAKE YOUR TIME and take your break even if you do not feel you need it. Go to the loo, stretch out, drink water and come back. Breathe innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn and out....LOL....When you come out; you will feel probably that you did not do well, the exam is so random. Questions on things you may never even heard of, but you will be able to intelligently reduce the wrong answers....Once it is over, you will probably agree with the professor that told you to now wait too long to take it after graduations. I took 90 days, and really, I could have taken that exam one week after graduation.

Sending you best wishes. YOU WILL ROCK IT!
