NCLEX-RN Wait-Time for Spring 2021 New Grads in CA!

Published

Hello and Congrats Nursing Graduates of Spring 2021!! ??????

I wanted to create a thread for those of us who just graduated and submitted our applications (to BreEZe and Pearson VUE) to update one another when we receive an ATT and take the NCLEX-RN! I’ve heard that California can have a lengthy wait time so I think keeping each other updated will be helpful!

I submitted my applications and Livescan (both at same time) three weeks ago on 5/19/2021, graduated on 5/22/2021, and my transcripts were sent to the BRN from my school on 6/7/2021. Still no changes to my application status on BreEZe (status: pending) and Pearson VUE (status: Registration Acknowledged).

Good luck to everyone waiting to test to get licensed for new grad RN programs!! I will keep y’all updated as my applications progress.

Very slowly. I just talked to someone on one  of the facebook new grad groups. She said her transcripts were submitted 7/1 and she got approved on Thursday last week. ATT yesterday. Hopefully that means we will hear back soon ??‍♀️ this all just seems so random ?

So frustrating! Fingers crossed for the both of us, and the rest of the new grads out there patiently waiting ?

Hi All-

I completed my application on 6/3, graduated 6/11, school sent transcripts on 6/30. Everything is still “pending” for me. It’s disconcerting to hear that someone who’s school sent transcripts on 7/1 has been approved already when someone of us are still waiting. There doesn’t seem to be much of an organized system to the process. I wish I could understand why it takes them so long.
SO FRUSTRATING! Just wanted to vent.
??

Hey everyone. I’ve been calling everyday and getting the same generic answers. So I decided to make the trip to Sacramento yesterday (over 8 hour drive). They were no help. Said that they have everything they need for me but I just have to wait for an evaluator to review my app. Since I graduated from CA they can’t just pull my app out of the bunch to review it. It has to be done as a cohort. Even though I’ve been waiting over 11 weeks now, they can’t do anything ?. She said “it could be done in 2 days or in 2-4 weeks”. LOL. I’ve accepted that I’ll probably lose my job offer now. There’s nothing more I can do at this point. I’ve tried everything, and it feels pointless to even hold on to hope. What a big waste of time and so frustrating to say the least.

@futurernmelne I’m so sorry you had to go through so much just to get turned away! ? Honestly, it’s not fair at all that they linger this process so long. I know that my application processed in a timely manner due to sheer luck. I seriously hope and pray you get approved in 2 days and not 2 weeks ???? Given the MASSIVE size and population of California it’s really just careless that the BRN has such a low amount of staff and ONLY one office in Sacramento to approve NCLEX apps. Again, sorry to hear about all your troubles! ?

I think my friend and I met you there in person! I remember talking to someone who drove many hours hoping that the BRN would do something...

I am sorry to hear about this, and I hope that they process us soon.

To add to the thread: My friend who is in the same cohort and I, we applied 5/14 and still have not received BRN approval. They told us our apps are processed as a cohort and they could not do anything. They also said that no one was yet to be assigned to our cohort.

OMG yes, you two talked to them right before me! It was nice meeting you. I was so disappointed with the outcome. I applied 5/14 too. This process is ridiculous. I kind of gave up at this point, but still hope we hear something soon ??

I think although we were all disappointed, we can rest easy knowing that we did everything we could and drove ourselves to the BRN. It is better than to not have tried and regret not trying. We are nearing the 90 day mandatory evaluation, so we should hear back by law by next week.

Hi. I actually flew up to Sacramento yesterday from LA and spoke with the BRN. I got the same answers as you. I have a job contingent on passing my NCLEX too, so I’ve been desperate.
My application was approved as of 8:30 this morning! Other people in my class were also approved. It was likely just a coincidence, but maybe going up there helped my class’ position in the queue. My school sent transcripts on 6/30. So hopefully you will also get approved soon! Reading over these comments, it seems like we had similar timing. Don’t lose hope just yet.

@StudentNurse1221 when did your school send transcripts?

quick question for everyone. I submitted "additional documents" on my breeze account last week. and it suddenly disappeared this morning. my initial application is still visible, but just those additional documents are gone. do you know what this means?
