NCLEX-RN tomorrow! am lost and don't know what to do

Published

Hi all,

I will be taking my exam tomorrow for the second time and had finished the questions that I have on hand. I do not know what I should do now as I am still not feeling confident. (First time experience was traumatizing, flashback kept coming back) I have the feeling like I am confident this time and next moment I am lost again.

I packed up all the needed documents in my bag(ATT, meal bars etc) and also choose clothing that I am going to wear ( overwhelming, sorry guys) I have come to a point where shall I revise again or I should stop and relax for the rest of the day. I used Kaplan Qbank(online-free), NCBSN 3 weeks and Hurst Online Review this time. The first time round, I used Saunder 5th(yellow book) and La Charity but left me with "bad pop up" after that.

Just can't afford to have another disappointment as it is so expensive to purchase further more reviews(all came with expiry date) and exam fees too. Sorry for pouring out my thoughts and emotions over here.

Thank you for reading the post too! Am just feelig helpless and scare again.

I think you should relax. I know its easier said than done. I take mine for the second time Feb.16th. The first time I only used saunders and nothing else. This time I am using the NCSBN and I just got the LaCharity ebook. Did you think that the NCSBN questions were like the NCLEX? What were you scores on NCSBN and how did you do with LaCharity. I just started using it and I average about 52-65%. I feel like a loser. You will be fine. Keep me posted on your nclex tomorrow.

I think it's very similiar. My scores were 50%-80% and pretest score was 68% for NCBSN. La Charity, I used it initially and realized it was too hard as the start so I just did the first 18 chapters with only just pass scores. Don't feel like a loser! We are both 2nd timer now. Hope that we will do well this time. I will update this posting after tomorrow. Right now, I am just going to relax and watch some TV, eat some comfort food and revise a little later. Trying my best to relax myself and not thinking anything!

I took the nclex today and I used lacharity and ncsbn. I will say that the ncsbn resembles the nclex the most. I got scores mainly in the 60's and got the good pop up. You will do fine, I'm praying for you both.

Thank you so much! And congrats! your hard work paid off, I am so happy for you. Hopefully today will end fast and face the upcoming challenge tomorrow!

IMO, if you haven't stopped studying for the day, shut the book NOW.

At this point, the best thing you can do for yourself is relax. Cramming an entire nursing school education into this evening won't work; if anything it's more likely to key you up and jack your anxiety level even higher. And if you don't know it by now, you'll probably never learn it by the morning.

Besides, you know more than you think you do...but you will have a hard time getting to that knowledge if you're overanxious and worn out from revising the night before.

So relax, do something fun, and plan for a good night's sleep.

Best of luck!

If you haven't gone to bed yet, do it now!! A warm relaxing shower, a glass of warm milk - preferably chocolate - and then set two alarms. Then go to sleep. Wake up rested and confident.

Best wishes!!!

Thank you all! For all the valuable advice! I really appreciate it!

I agree with the two alarm suggestion. I take my test next week, and you better believe I will have multiple alarms!

Good luck to you! Let us know how it goes.
