NCLEX RN TEST TODAY PLAN OF ACTION 1st TIME

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

hello everyone

i have been reading posts on this forum sort of like a visit to the shrink. all nurses.com helped me get into nursing school by giving me feedback from all different angles.

nclex is about critical thinking and that is what i do with this forum pull out the necessary information and advise and apply it to me the patient.

nursing school was not easy to get into: the advise i took was keep trying until you get in. do not give up, keep getting back on the horse. i did and graduated this past june.

today is the nclex for me in new york 2pm

using the same advise: keep trying until you pass the nclex. do not give up, keep getting back on the horse.

my doggie brandi passed away during preparations for the nclex and this made it extreamly hard to study :crying2::crying2::crying2::redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe. i am doing this for brandi who also stayed by my side during the countless hours of studying, crying and stress that this entire experience has made me go through. i was her nurse :nurse: for many years and then some. here is her on-line memorial :paw::paw::paw::paw:

here is my plan of attack the morning before the test....

  • i did all the kaplan trainers and saved a screen of each question i had gotten wrong or had no clue about. i am going over those screens before the exam.
  • quick review of infectious control in the kaplan book and on the cdc website.
  • quick review of notes taken from kaplan videos
  • quick review of notes pulled from allnurses.com posts that i gather up.

then......

  • breakfast
  • take a 2 hour nap
  • take shower
  • take tylenol and immodium, just in case :clown:
  • call a taxi
  • drink super octane coffee while in route and smile and look at the sky
  • go into testing center to just take a test with the attitude that if i pass great, if i do not "i'll be back":smokin:
  • call joanna my best friend who i met in nursing school who without her support and friendship i would still be somewhere on the moon.

:tku:

  • go on vacation right after as a r.n. or just as a go getter who keeps on trying.

i do not consider myself graduated until i pass the nclex. this means if i pass the nclex today i graduated today :yeah:. if i did not pass the nclex it means time to repeat a class :typing. not the end of the world, just more work :banghead:. life is mainly all about work anyway.

go with the flow and before you know it you will be looking back at that train wreck :heartbeat that is now behind you in life. an accomplishment :D

best of luck to all taking the exam.

oh !! one question?????? how long after taking the exam do you wait to do the pearson trick? can it be done the same day as testing or do you have to alot some time? :barf01:

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Welcome to the site

Specializes in Oncology.

Sending good vibes and prayers your way as you take the NCLEX today :redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat:redpinkhe:redpinkhe:redpinkhe:redpinkhe:redpinkhe.

I think you can do the pearson vue test as soon as your test ways "successfully submitted".

I did the trick about 3 hours after I took the test.

sending good vibes your way!

i'm sorry to hear about Brandi. i was very moved by her story... i even cried. goodluck on the test! i'm certain that you'll make it! i myself, used something that was once significant as an inspiration to nail the test! i was like, "oh yeah?? i'll SHOW YOU." =) sure enough, i passed with 75 questions in 1 hour and 30 minutes :)

God bless! i know that Brandi too, will be at your side as you take it. she will be very proud of you!

I went to your website and it had me crying. I lost my best friend Oscar (dachsund) a few years ago and I still think about him alot.

THANK YOU FOR THE BRANDI THOUGHTS

YA'LL ..... :redbeathe

I DID NOT PASS THE NCLEX... I DID THE PVT (PEARSON VUE TRICK) AND WILL ACCEPT TO WITH THAT.

I DO NOT WANT TO BE ASKED ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TEST AS IT CAN GO ON 4 EVER AND YES I LIKE TO TYPE IN CAPS.

I WILL SAY..... I DID NOT HAVE 1 MATH QUESTION AND ONLY HAD 1 SATA QUESTION AND WAS WONDERING WHY? TEST STOPPED AT 75 AND LEFT FEELING CONFIDENT.....WRONG :(

AS I SAID NOT THE END OF THE WORLD BUT YES..... i AM HURT INCREDIBLY AND WILL GET BACK ON THE HEALTH CARE HORSE AND MAKE MY SELF A PRICELESS ASSET TO HUMAITY AND IT'S PROMOTION TO PROLONGING OUR HEALTH, HUMAN LIFE AND MAKING TRANSITION INTO THE ENVITABLE AS COMFORTABLE AS I WOULD LIKE IT FOR MYSELF.

WILL BE IN TOUCH AS I PROGRESS, NEED A SHIFT TOWARDS LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE NURSING CAREER AS I HAVE BEEN MISSING IN ACTION FOR A LONG TIME (NEARLY 4 YEARS) BEING A NURSE NOT ONLY TO BRANDI BUT FOR MORE THAN I RATHER SHARE IN PUBLIC.

I HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT GIVE UP ... I AM A UP SCALE QUALITY NURSE (not licensed but has been one non the less outside of being licensed) WHO CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS & AND HAVE BEEN AND WILL BE LICENSED AND ONE DAY WILL BE SLIGHTLY PAID TO DO SO. :yeah:

Sorry to hear that but praise u for ur positive attitude....i need that too....planning to take it myself by oct sometimes(second time)....don't know what other way to study....any advice

Thanks

Thanks, focus on teaching, focus on priorization....focus on being positive during the exam nice and calm as you would during dealing with an emergency situation.

All the best

Thank u....i was wondering if NCSBN will help...did u try that....right now i am doing kaplan online.

No, not what you just said but i will definetly say believe it or not follow kaplans q bank sample test #3 and find questions as that to become proficient for what i believe will be a majority. Keep in mind i am not telling you what was on the nclex this is still expect general nursing safety knowledge and critical thinking.

once again thanks a lot...will be in touch...till then take care
