NCLEX RN PVT pending results...

Published

Hello! I've been going thru some of the threads regarding the pearson vue trick cause i'm having major anxiety! i took my test this morning and stopped at either 104 or 105 after 2 hours. i thought the test was crazy hard. It covered stuff i never even heard of in nursing school. A lot of it was SATA, 1 math question, and a lot of patient education questions. Anyways, i tried the pearson vue trick 12 hours after taking my test and i got a pop up that says "THE CANDIDATE CURRENTLY HAS TEST RESULTS ON HOLD. A NEW REGISTRATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED AT THIS TIME"

Does anyone know what that means???? help please!

Yes.

Addressing the first part of your post, the number of test questions doesn't matter. The test concludes when the computer determines to a 95% certainty that you are either competent or incompetent at this time.

The format of the questions doesn't matter, either, as above-passing standard and below-passing standard questions can be phrased in any of the formats of the NCLEX.

You did the PVT incorrectly. Since your exam is scored TWICE within a 24 hour period, and you cannot know when the second scoring will take place, you needed to WAIT.

As it stands, your results are "on hold" which indicates neither passing nor failing. There are many reasons why an exam may be placed 'on hold', such as a palm/finger scan that took more than one attempt to clear. Finishing an exam in faster-than-expected time, or taking abnormally frequent breaks can flag it, as can anything completely unrelated to you such as a power issue at the testing site itself.

Once the QA has been satisfied that the test hasn't been compromised, the hold will be lifted. Takes anywhere from 24-72 hours. Most common seems to be 48-72.

If your State participates in Quick Results, I'd strongly suggest you pay the eight bucks and get an official answer on whether you passed or failed.

Good luck.

Thank you for the info. I tried the PVT again this morning and I got the "good pop up"

i really hope hope it means what everyone has been saying!

Usually in California, if you passed, your name shows up in 24 hours. My name is still not up but I'm still getting the good pop up... Is there still hope for me?

NOt sure where you got this idea, but it isn't true. California is NOTORIOUSLY slow when it comes to issuing new licenses. The BreEze is a Consumer Affairs website and does post licenses, so many people use that to find out if they passed or not. It updates randomly, it seems, as some report seeing their info in 24 hours, others.....weeks.

The State BoN won't post your license information on the BoN website until you have paid your licensing fees, and they notify you via snail mail as to your passing/failing status.

Good luck!

Thanks. However my classmates that took it the same day as me are already on the BRN website. I'm still getting the good pop up but no license number. I've been trying to go thru all these forums but I've never heard of an identical situation like mine... So the uncertainly is still there. Hold for the first 24 hours, then the good pop still coming up but still no license. Ahhhhhhh

Remember that the "pop up" is only related to Pearson Vue's registration software, and has NO relationship with any State BoN. Getting the good pop up after 24 hours tells me you passed the exam (yay you!!) but now it's in the hands of your State.

Trust me, it DOES happen, and a lot. Not unique, but definitely annoying if you're on the end of it!

California, like I said, is wholly unreliable in terms of how fast they do anything. Did you check the BreEze? That tends to post faster. Some of your classmates will see their names quickly, others not so much. Frustrating, I know, but....hang in there! It's almost over :)

Sorry, I need to correct myself. Their names are showing up on breEze with their license numbers already. I'm so depressed and I don't know what to think anymore. I'm still getting the good pop up (I never thought I'd be the type to check every hour) But no number on breEze. :((( The anxiety is killing me. Is it common for someone to pass but not show up on breEZe 48 post test in California?

First off, STOP doing the PVT! All you will accomplish at this point is the off-chance that you will get your payment accepted, which has NO relationship to your exam at this point. On rare occasions the system will "test" a card, regardless of whether an exam is needed. You'd have NO recourse by which to get a refund, as you agree at the time you submit payment that you know it's non-refundable. Just.Say.No. :)

Now, moving on... YES, it happens, as I said before. Passing the exam is NOT the same as getting a license issued. Is there any reason you can think of that your license might not be issued, or have a delay in issuing? I'm NOT saying that there even IS a delay, as you're well within the normal time-frame for a CA license to be processed.

But if there IS something that would cause a delay, you won't see a license number until that's resolved. For someone posting on here recently it had to do with not including proof of a Child Abuse CE that was mandated before a license could be issued. She provided proof....and got her license.

I wouldn't make myself crazy, as you are, just yet. It's way too soon for that. Breathe :)

Ok ok, you're right. I am making myself go crazy. The only thing I could think of is when I went to do the palm scanner at the end of my test, I took my hand off too quickly and even the person overseeing my test hesitated but let me go anyways.

Nope. If that was an issue, when you did the PVT you would have seen a message telling you that your test was on "hold", and that another registration couldn't be made at that time. Which makes me think of something....when you said you got "the good pop up", did you mean it said you had "an open registration, and another couldn't be made at this time".....or did it use the words "on hold"?

There is a big difference there...want to be sure we're talking about the same thing.

If there WAS a hold placed, it takes upwards of 72 hours to clear until results can be released to any BoN. What, exactly, did your pop up say?
